Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Jennifer Kuhn

Center Director
Jen is a long time Wauconda resident who graduated from Indiana University and Chicago-Kent College of Law. After a successful career as a prosecutor and strategic philanthropy and communications leader in corporate America, she ran a communications consulting practice, managed a teen center in Crystal Lake, and has been teaching in Wauconda D118 and the Archdiocese of Chicago for the past two years. Jen's favorite number is 22, and her favorite song is "Soulfight" by The Revivalists. Her personal passion is empowering young people, and what better way to do that than through building their math skills and confidence.

Cyndi Davidson

Assistant Center Director
Cyndi is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a bachelors degree in biology. She holds a secondary education certificate for biology and a middle school certificate for math. Cyndi has worked as a middle school math and science teacher and as an editor for educational publishing companies. Cyndi has been with Mathnasium of Wauconda since 2018, and she oversees the training of our instructors as well as teaching the students. She has been happily married to her husband Scott for over 30 years and has two adult daughters.

Keira

Instructor
Keira is a senior at Carmel Catholic High School. She is a captain of the basketball team, her team won the 2021-2022 Girls basketball 3A State Championship. Keira loves to paint, bake, and exercise in her free time, and she love dogs more than anything. Keira has three siblings and loves working with kids. She is one of the hosts of Tips & Tricks with Nic and Keira providing short how-to math videos for students and parents.

Nic

Instructor
Nicolas is a junior at Wauconda High School. He is an avid runner and does both varsity Cross Country and Track for the school. Nick has played the piano since first grade and the alto saxophone since sixth grade. His favorite food is ice cream, and he has one younger sibling. Nick's ambition is to enter the field of biology and travel all across the world, helping conservation efforts. He loves to work with kids and help them build their confidence. He is one of the hosts of Tips & Tricks with Nic and Keira providing short how-to math videos for students and parents.

Jake

Instructor
Jake is a senior at Wauconda High School, where he is in marching band and pit band for the musical. His favorite math class was Algebra, and his favorite number is 42. Jake believes that 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. He uses math everyday without realizing it. From managing his time, money, and how much food he eats, it's all math. Jakes favorite song is "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac.

Tyler

Instructor
Tyler attends the College of Lake County, and he is working on his Associate's degree in Mathematics. His favorite math class so far is AP Statistics. Tyler's favorite number is 13. It's never been bad luck for him. Tyler enjoys logic and number puzzles, so he uses math almost every day. His favorite song is "Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder.

Johanna

Instructor
Johanna is a Wauconda High School student, and she is currently taking AP Statistics. Her favorite number is 7 because it is everywhere in nature - 7 colors in the rainbow, 7 rows in the periodic table, and 7 days in the week. Jo is a camp counselor at her church every summer, and she helped run a camp for refugee children last summer in Dayton, OH. She uses math in her everyday life measuring ingredients to cook and counting change. Johann's favorite song is "Everybody Loves the Sunshine."

Logan

Instructor
Logan attends Wauconda High School, and he is currently taking AP Calculus. His favorite number is 25 because it is the day he was born. Logan coaches a Bulldog Youth Sports Football team. As far as music goes, his favorite song is "In the Air Tonight" by State of Mine. Logan uses math when he helps his siblings with their homework.

Ruth

Instructor
Ruth attends Wauconda High School, and she is an officer in Future Business Leaders of America. She is currently taking Honors Pre-Calculus. Her favorite number is 8 because she likes how it looks. Ruth has experience working with kids through her church. Her favorite song is "role Model" by Brent Faiyez. She uses math at school and when ever she purchases something.
