Ed B.

Assistant Center Director
Ed holds a BS in Math and a BS in Computer Science from Wichita State University and has his MBA from Newman University. Besides being an instructor at Mathnasium, Ed also works as a para-educator in the Maize School district. Favorite Number: "11" Was his jersey number in grade school basketball. You're a "10" and number "1". What can be better? Favorite Math Joke: Why is the equal sign(=)so humble? Because he doesn’t claim to be greater than (>) or less than(<) anyone else! Fun Fact: Ed loves to be on stage. He started at age 4 doing tap and singing. He has been in several musicals in community theatres, and been a choir director for several groups. Ed currently directs a choir at church. I love Mathnasium because: It helps students to create a solid base of the beautiful language of math that will help them throughout their life. To be a part of something that helps to make math more positive is an exciting opportunity.

Steve G.

Instructor
Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. After 39 years he retired from the Aerospace industry. He was Scoutmaster for St. Francis of Assisi church and loves to camp and hike. Favorite Number: Infinity - it goes on forever. Favorite Math Joke: 3 out of 2 people have trouble with fractions! Fun Fact: Star Trek fan and occasionally wears Spock ears. I love Mathnasium because: Guiding and coaching a student through a challenging math concept and watching them succeed builds their confidence in math and in themselves. Mathnasium instruction methods alleviate the "I'm not good at math" feeling. And...it's fun!

Bernarr W.

Bernarr has a BS in Math and MS in Education. He has tutored math for 46 years. Favorite Number: "13" It's his daughter’s number. Favorite Math Joke: The "2" asked the square root of "-2" "Why are you so irrational?" Fun Fact: Bernarr has umpired for 28 years. I love Mathnasium because: I love to watch others learn.

Samuel is currently a Freshman attending Wichita State University majoring in Aerospace Engineering. His favorite number is "2.718281" because it's Euler's Number, and it’s significant in his favorite game. His favorite math joke is "Why did Seven Eight Nine? Because you're supposed to eat 3 squared meals a day!" A fun fact is that Sam enjoys art. Sam loves Mathnasium because he enjoys helping people become better at things they struggle with, especially math.

Rick C.

Owner
Rick assumed ownership of the West Wichita Mathnasium Learning Center in late 2016. He's always had a passion for helping others. Prior to Mathnasium, Rick was a successful entrepreneur and businessman in Wichita. After decades working with employees of all backgrounds and abilities, Rick has seen firsthand how math skills can enrich lives and open doors for individuals both in school and beyond. Rick decided to invest in Mathnasium because it can truly change the lives of students at all levels. His lifelong passion for helping others has included volunteering as an AWANA leader, children's Sunday School teacher, and other volunteer activities through his church in Wichita. Rick attended both Wichita State University and the University of Kansas. Rick and his wife Susan have two adult daughters and two grandsons. Fun Fact: Rick is an IFR rated private pilot. Rick is a personally-involved owner. He is focused on helping your student succeed at math. Whether your child is struggling with math, or is gifted and needs a challenge, Mathnasium is the right place to be.
