Ashley Patterson, Center Director

Ashley has been with Mathnasium since November 2014 starting at the Fullerton location as an Instructor, Team Leader, and Center Director.  Her favorite part of working with Mathnasium is seeing students’ progress in both their math skills and their confidence.  Prior to Mathnasium, she was a private math tutor for 3 years, students grade 2 through 12, with great results. She graduated from the University of Redlands where she received a B.A. in Communicative Disorders. Ashley has 2 younger sisters and 8 younger cousins, and she believes this has helped her develop an understanding of how children think and learn math concepts. In her spare time she likes to sing, dance, or just say home, watch T.V. and relax.

Elaine Walker, Associate Director

Elaine is a student from Santiago Canyon College with an Associates in Chemistry, Math, and Art. She enjoys working with kids and showing them that math can be as fun as playing a game. In her spare time she plays video games, takes Polaroid pictures, watches anime, and solves puzzles. She hopes to transfer to UC to finish her major in Chemistry.

Cynthia Parks, Lead Instructor

Cynthia graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with a degree in Mathematics. Math is her favorite subject, and she is excited to be working at Mathnasium to share her enthusiasm for math with our students. In her free time she enjoys playing computer games, watching anime, and going to Disneyland.

Hannah Duckworth, Instructor

Hannah Duckworth is a student at Chapman University double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration.  Math has always been her favorite subject and she is excited to show others how math can positively affect people’s lives.  In her spare time she enjoys hiking and participating in Chapman’s Accounting Society and Investment Group.

Andrew Dorzok, Instructor

Andrew is a computer engineering major at Cal Poly Pomona.  He has always had a natural ability with numbers and mathematical concepts.  He wants to share his enthusiasm for math with students that find the subject difficult and inspire them to exceed their own expectations.  When Andrew is not at school or Mathnasium, he spends his time at the gym or playing video games.

Rachal Hasson, Instructor

Rachal is a student at Cal State Fullerton and is working towards a degree in math with a teaching concentration.  She has always been interested in math and enjoys spending time with kids.  In her free time she enjoys running, going to the beach, and watching movies.

Jared MacShane, Instructor

Jared graduated from University of California Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s in Mathematics.  He takes great pleasure in getting kids excited about math and unlocking their potential.  He believes math is a fantastic way to develop logic and critical thinking skills.  Jared also enjoys backpacking and all sorts of games.

Blake McWilliam, Instructor

Blake is a Computer Science student at Irvine Valley College.  He hopes to spread his love for math and problem solving with students so that they might share the same enthusiasm for the subject.  In his spare time he likes to write music, hike, and scuba dive.

Adam Bender, Center Relationships Coordinator

Adam earned his Bachelor's degree in Business and Communication from the University of Southern California and is a proud Trojan. Adam is thankful that his longtime passion for working with kids and the community is now intertwined with his career. He grew up giving back to his community by coaching basketball at the Boys & Girls Club, working with underprivileged youth in South Los Angeles, volunteering with the Special Olympics, and tutoring his high school peers. Adam was the Center Director at Mathnasium of North Santa Clarita for its opening year, where he worked to make the Center an integral part of the community, and he is now applying that experience to several centers. Adam believes there is no greater reward than helping kids learn, thrive and feel confident in their abilities and is very excited about introducing mathnasium to a wider audience to help more children understand math and see their confidence reach its fullest potential.

We can't wait to Math Math Make Sense for your child!
