Our Team

Melissa has very extensive, advanced education at Sacramento State and Long Beach State as a math education major. She has worked with all types of kids and educational settings as an Americorps volunteer. In this public service assignment she provided one-on-one and group instruction and mentoring to elementary school children in underprivileged areas. Prior to becoming a Mathnasium director/owner, she provided one on one math tutoring for three years as a contract employee for Tutor Moms working with elementary, intermediate and high school students.

Melissa is excited about the opportunity to (as she puts it) "engage in her three passions: kids, teaching and math". She believes strongly in the Mathnasium mission which is: "To teach math to students in a way that makes sense to them"

She also shares the basic beliefs espoused by Mathnasium which are:
"That children deserve a learning experience which is Effective, Engaging and Encouraging"
"That Parents deserve Monetary value, Meaningful updates and Measurable results"

Lindsay is the lead instructor here at Mathnasium. She has been part of our team for over three years. She currently is a student at Cal State Fullerton where she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. She hopes to become a kid's counselor one day. She has a passion for children and teaching (especially math). Lindsay is very patient with students and loves to see a student light up when they understand a concept they struggled with before. Math has always come easily to Lindsay. She loves to share her math tricks and knowledge with others.
