Center Director/Co-Owner Larry ShannonLarry Shannon, Center Director/Co-Owner

Larry holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Colorado State University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Arizona State University. As an undergraduate, he tutored math for the Athletic Department at CSU and as a graduate student, he taught computer language classes. His early career experiences were with General Electric and Honeywell as a software engineer which included designing, teaching, and managing computer programming and analysis courses. He later launched his own computer systems consulting firm. For the last 21 years, as a senior systems analyst in the world of Child Human Services Information Technology, he was a senior member of the Technical Team for the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS). Over the years Larry has been involved in teaching and counseling with youth and young adults as a part of his volunteer church service. With his lifelong passion for math and teaching, he has always kept his eye on math as he tutored his children and numerous grandchildren. Since his college days, he has frequently told his family: "When I grow up, I am going to teach high school math!" Larry brings to the Mathnasium table his love of math; his friendly teaching and presentation skills; his strong ability to bridge knowledge gaps between students and technology; and the understanding of how a child's "math challenges" can destroy self-esteem and close the doors of opportunity and success in their future. He is an enthusiastic player for Mathnasium and is excited about the opportunity and ability to touch the lives of children through the Mathnasium Method. He is committed to improving your child's math skills and consequently improving their chances for happiness and the potential for their success in the future. Mathnasium builds skills, builds confidence, and builds leaders of tomorrow. Larry is grateful to be on the Mathnasium Team.
