Ira

Owner & Managing Director
Ira is the Owner and Managing Director of Mathnasium of Bothell, Mathnasium of Mill Creek and Maple Valley. She has previously worked as Software Engineer and Program Manager at Microsoft. She has Master’s in Computer Science and Bachelor’s in Statistics and was also an aspiring actuary. Ira's association with Mathnasium started with her son as a student, which got her interested in being part of Mathnasium's mission of Changing Lives Through Math.

William

Asst. Center Director
Will has a master's degree in physics and a bachelor's in physics and math. Currently, he is working on getting a teaching degree so that he can become a math teacher, in addition to tutoring and working as a software engineer. He hasn't stopped doing math since elementary school, and and started working at Mathnasium because he believes that everyone should be able to benefit from a strong mathematical background!

Matthew

Asst. Center Director
Matthew is BS in mechanical engineering and minors in nuclear engineering and mathematics from The Ohio State University He has a never ending love for learning that he wants to share with others, so he plan to continue his education with a masters in teaching. His favorite thing about math is how it serves as a set of tools to understand and predict how things work in the world around him. From simple circuits to the power generated by nuclear reactions and from the light hitting your retinas reading this to the topology of the neural pathways your brain is using to process what these words mean, math is in everything! Outside of Math: He has been a competitive fencer for over a decade and his most recent result is being the 2021 division 1 men’s epee national champion. He also played the trumpet for over 10 years and have decided as a new year’s resolution to learn to play the piano.

Norbu

Instructor
Norbu has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington Bothell. He is currently completing a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering as well. Renewable energy and power systems are his areas of focus. He is passionate about solving math problems and seeing how math concepts can be applied to everyday life. Having attended Mathnasium as a student, he knows how beneficial tutoring is in building solid foundational skills and getting ahead. In his free time, he enjoys working out, playing golf, and card games.

Chloe

Instructor
Chloe is a senior at North Creek High School. She plans to earn a major in biology, and a degree in animal science. Her favorite math subject is Calculus because there are a lot of new formulas and fundamental concepts taught that are interesting to learn about. In her free time, she volunteers at an animal shelter, as well as participates in several clubs at her school.

Tucker

Lead Instructor
Tucker is a Junior at Lake Washington Technical College in their Bioengineering/ Chemical Engineering program. His favorite subject in math is linear algebra, because of its simplifying power for complex situations. In his free time, he plays the trombone and studies for upcoming exams.
