Megan Chu

Assistant Director
Megan graduated from George Mason University with a Master's in Early Childhood Education in May 2019. Raised in Burke, Virginia, Megan attended White Oaks Elementary School and Lake Braddock Secondary School. She has a passion for working with children and is currently in her fifth year teaching first grade in FCPS. Megan has been part of the Mathnasium team since February 2014, and she enjoys being able to help students of all ages learn, understand, and enjoy math!

Steven Vu

Senior Lead Instructor
Steven is currently a student at George Mason University studying computer science. He went to Cardinal Forest, Keene Mill, and White Oaks Elementary School, and later Lake Braddock Secondary School for both middle and high school. He has always had a passion and love for math as a subject and enjoys teaching others what he knows. He has been helping family and friends with math for a long time now and has decided to broaden his range and help even more people learn math.

Stella Chiou

Lead Instructor
Stella is in her fourth year at University of Virginia for the 2023-2024 school year. Previously, she attended Orange Hunt Elementary School, Sangster Elementary School, and Lake Braddock Secondary School. Stella loves to help people and share her passion for math with others. In addition to math, she also enjoys studying language and learning Chinese folk dance. Stella joined Mathnasium in June 2019, and looks forward to each new day with her students.

Max Chiu

Lead Instructor
Max is currently a student at Drexel University studying computer science. Moving around often, Max has previously attended Bradley Elementary School, Mayor John H. Wilson Elementary School, Taipei American School, and Lake Braddock Secondary School. From a young age, Max has enjoyed learning math and how to use it for practical purposes. With an interest in computer science, their joy for math has increased after seeing how mathematical concepts can be used to solve coding problems. Max joined Mathnasium to help others discover a similar enthusiasm in math and its versatility in everyday life.

Richard Karpynskyi

Lead Instructor
Richard Karpynskyi is a second year student at the University of Virginia. He previously attended Robinson Secondary School and Bonnie Brae Elementary School. Richard was an active member of his schools’ Math Honors Society, where he first started tutoring kids. Richard is passionate about music and playing his instrument, the double bass. He is also involved in sports; he played travel soccer for BRYC. In his free time, he enjoys going on hikes. Richard joined Mathnasium to help kids develop a solid mathematical foundation that will allow them to confidently use their skills in the real world and future career.

Daniel Olenick

Instructor
Daniel is currently a student at George Mason University studying Music Education with a focus in Voice. He has previously attended Cedar Road Elementary School, Great Bridge Middle School, and Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, VA. Daniel's interests include classical and choir singing, competitive gaming, and long-distance running. Daniel fell in love with math at first sum and continues to love its puzzle-like nature. He has worked at Mathnasium for a year where he discovered his passion for teaching and the satisfaction of helping others understand and grow in their enthusiasm about math.

Seiya Lincicum

Instructor
Seiya Lincicum attends Lake Braddock Secondary School in the class of 2024. He attended Kings Park and Keene Mill for elementary school and has been at Lake Braddock since middle school. He loves math as well as music and creative writing. After enjoying his experience tutoring students through Lake Braddock's Math Honor Society he decided to join Mathnasium to continue to help students work through the challenges they have with math and learn how fun it can be.
