Donald Wengerd

Lead Instructor
I like math because of the many fun challenges it presents, and the problem-solving skills it builds that are applicable in so many other aspects of life. My favorite math subject is calculus, which is both the most difficult and most enjoyable class I have ever taken. I plan to teach math after college, so I like working at Mathnasium for the experience it gives me working with students; moreover, it is very fulfilling to help students get the extra help they need to be more confident and excited about their work. My favorite number is 3: it's a solid number, and triangles are pretty cool too. My favorite hobbies are playing saxophone and guitar, as well as long-distance running. An interesting fact is that the modern form of calculus was discovered by two different people independently, and published at about the same time.

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
