Zhuonan

Assistant Director
Nathan graduated from University of California, Riverside with a degree in Computational Math. Nathan previously worked as a Math Tutor specializing in SAT math preparation. As a passionate math enthusiast, he is dedicated to helping students understand and appreciate the beauty of mathematics. Nathan believes that math can be both logical and fun, and enjoys sharing multiple problem-solving approaches. Nathan is committed to making math accessible and rewarding for all students, especially those who find it challenging or dull. He likes to inspire a love for math, help students make sense of its complexities, and turn the subject from a challenge into an enjoyable adventure. He looks forward to exploring the world of math together with our students!

Vanessa

Instructor
Vanessa Harvey received her master's degree in astronomy from UCLA and has a bachelor's degree in physics. She is currently an adjunct professor in the California Community College system where she teaches astronomy. Vanessa is committed to supporting students in building their confidence and skill in mathematics, as well as their ability to think analytically. Vanessa particularly wants to assist young people in entering STEM careers.

Gideon

Instructor
Gideon is a recent graduate from USC with a B.S in applied mathematics. Loving both Math and Computer Science he plans to pursue graduate school in Data science. Although having started in C.S he learned he loved math even more and has been tutoring math since highschool. In his free time he enjoys hanging out with friends, gaming and coding. The longer he has taught math the more he grows to love it and ultimately fuels his passion to educate others in such an interesting field.

Nijeri

Instructor
Njeri is a Computer Science major at Santa Monica College, hoping to transfer to a four-year university next fall. Her demonstrated passion for tutoring started in high school, when she was a peer tutor for math and physics through the Boys and Girls Club. This experience led her to working with Mathnasium. In her free time she loves to build software for others and cycle.

Antonio

Instructor
Antonio is currently a graduate student at Cal Poly Pomona studying Aerospace Engineering. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Antonio grew up in the Venice/Marina Del Rey area and math has always been an important part of his childhood. He wishes to share his passion of math with others. Antonio also enjoys watching sports and creative music.

Robert

Instructor
Robert is currently a Junior at Venice High School, aiming to learn as much as possible about any math and science-related topics. His ultimate goal is to attain a degree in astrophysics and gain a profession that studies the theoretical aspects of that subject. Robert's hobbies aside from math include playng the piano, reading old literature, and hiking through the Santa Monica Mountains. Robert puts his all into working at Mathnasium through the desire to see the wonder of math become a little more known in the students that are missing a spark of interest from their math classes. Robert strives to have others enjoy math just as much as he does.

Greiceri

Instructor
Greiceri Segura recently graduated from California State University of Los Angeles with a bachelor of Mathematics. He wants to pursue a career in teaching, specifically wants to be a high school math teacher. He has been in love with Mathematics ever since the third grade when he started learning times table. Furthermore, he loves working with students as he gets to see them improve their mathematics and love for it. Outside of Mathematics, he likes to run, practice kick boxing, watching anime and reading monga.

Dan Saposhnik

Director of Operations
Dan graduated from the University of Arizona in 1985 with a B.S. in Microbiology and from Hofstra University's Graduate School of Business in 1990 with an MBA in Accounting. He worked as a CPA with public accounting firm Price Waterhouse and has built successful companies in various fields including real estate and executive recruiting. Dan's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. His mother was a highly regarded principal in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years. Dan has taught and tutored children of all ages and was a mentor for underprivileged children. Dan is committed to significantly increasing Marina del Rey children's math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their overall school performance. "We provide lots of warm encouragement in a very positive learning environment so that children build their confidence and develop a winning attitude towards math. Our kids learn math in a way that makes sense to them. They get excited about math and this spirit carries over into everything they do."

Laurie Saposhnik

Director of Marketing and Community Outreach
Laurie graduated from UCLA in 1986 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Prior to joining Mathnasium, Laurie worked for various Fortune 500 high tech companies such as IBM, SAP, EMC, TIBCO and MicroStrategy. Laurie's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. Her father taught special education at the high school level for over 30 years in California. Laurie is committed to partnering with the Marina del Rey community to help children in Marina del Rey through being a math tutor and increasing their math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their confidence in their ability to be successful.
