Meet the Team at Mathnasium of Steiner Ranch

Elana Daigle M.Ed

Elana has dedicated her professional career to helping students reach their “ah ha” math moments, and she is driven by the life-changing confidence that math skills give students. Elana taught seventh and eighth grade math for more than ten years and has been a Master Mathnasium instructor for the last eleven years. She especially enjoys promoting achievement-oriented (but fun!) environments that promote success. Elana holds a Master’s Degree in Math Education and has been a mentor for Region V Educational Services of Texas.

Tyler Nichols

Tyler went to the University of Houston from 2020 to 2022, where he honed his math skills in Algebra and Geometry. He began his journey with Mathnasium in 2021 and joined the Mathnasium of Steiner Ranch team as Center Director in 2022. He is patient with his students and likes helping them find success in math. Tyler loves working at Mathnasium because he gets to help students build a stronger relationship with mathematics!

Kathy Hill

Kathy has over 20 years of sales and business development experience from within the wireless and technology industries. She began her journey with Mathnasium in our Home Office supporting our customer service department and learning all aspects of our operation. With her background in relationship building, training and sales, she is focused on bringing the best experience possible to our students and parents. As a mother of two girls, she understands the importance of education and how that impacts children's futures.

Kay Jaynes

Kay graduated from Lee Jr. College in 1993 with an Associates degree in nursing. For the past twenty years Kay has worked at Billy's side in several businesses handling the administrative functions. She is responsible for building relationships with the schools, teachers, and people in the local community on behalf of Mathnasium. Kay is committed to partnering with the local community to increase children’s math skills, their understanding of math concepts, and their confidence in their ability to be successful.

Jennifer Richardson

Jennifer graduated from Houston Community College in 2002 with an Associate Degree in Science. She has 18 years of experience in retail management in both soft lines and the cosmetic industry. She began her journey with Mathnasium in our Home Office department 2+years ago, building engagement with each customer and supporting the Mathnasium team. Jennifer enjoys being a Wife, Mom and Nonna to her family!

Larry Martinek

Developer of Mathnasium Program
Larry has spent his entire career finding a better way to teach math. From inner city to public schools, to acclaimed magnet schools, to leading private and parochial schools, Larry has served as both a classroom teacher and as an educational consultant. He has designed curriculum, teaching strategies, and teaching materials designed to help students and teachers learn math more effectively. He has trained teachers in the art and science of boosting student’s ability to “do” math, thereby increasing student’s math scores and feeling of self-worth. Larry is the developer of Mathnasium’s educational program – one of the most comprehensive and innovative curriculums ever produced for teaching math.
While Larry is not an Instructor at our Center, He is a valuable asset we can call on to ask about specific students scenarios for guidance and advise. This has helped to make visits more productive and enjoyable for many of our students.
