Nick Mele

Center Owner

For twenty years, Nick taught all levels of Math at Green Valley High School, from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus BC and IB Math HL. Based on AP and IB Exams, GVHS was selected to Newsweek's Top Schools eight times. Nick also has over ten years experience as a teacher instructor, designing and teaching courses for a Masters in Mathematics Education program. Raised in Ohio, Nick is a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He anxiously awaits the day a World Series or Superbowl Championship comes to Cleveland.

Kenny Lu

Center Director

Hey there, I'm Kenny Lu and I'm the Center Director at Mathnasium of Anthem. Before working at Anthem, I had the chance to teach at several Mathnasium's across Las Vegas. I received my Bachelors in English from California State University of Los Angeles with an emphasis in teaching. When I was younger, I had the good fortune to work with some amazing teachers. Those teachers helped me develop a love for learning and I have tried to pass that passion along to all my students. I've taught and tutored children of all ages, and I'm committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community.

Hello, I'm Spencer! I'm from Chicago, Illinois but have been in Las Vegas since 2008. I graduated from Liberty High School with Advanced Honors at the age of 16. Currently, I am studying Business Administration at UNLV. My favorite subject has always been math! It’s so much fun once you understand it and even more fun when I get to explain it. Math provides a level of satisfaction for me that I want everyone to experience. Outside of Mathnasium I enjoy traveling, reading, watching movies, and listening to music.

Hey there! My name is Ashlynn Garriga and I am currently a senior at Ed W. Clark High School, focusing on math and sciences. Math has always been my favorite class every school year and my main goal at Mathnasium is to encourage my students to love math as well. Another one of my passions is dancing and I read in my spare time. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you soon!

Hi! My name is Michael Barut, I'm currently a senior at Coronado High School and I am looking to study kinesiology in college. Math has always been my favorite subject, and I am grateful that I have been able to work with teachers who shared their passion with me. It's with their inspiration that I am looking to instill that same enjoyment to my students. Outside of school, I enjoy playing video games, listening to k-pop, and watching anime and the NFL.

Hi! My name is Sterling and I’ve been at Mathnasium since October 2022! I’m currently a student at UNLV, studying physics! In my free time I love to watch reality TV and hangout with friends!

Hi! My name is Michael Yu and I am currently a junior at Coronado High School. Math has always been my strong suit, so it has always given me confidence during my time as a student. I hope that by advancing other students’ knowledge in math I can pass on the same confidence and connection to math that I have. In my spare time I enjoy weight training and listening to a variety of music.

Hi there! My name is Vanessa and I’m currently studying Business Administration and Finance at Nevada State University. Math has always been my strong suit and I love teaching other people math. Seeing the confidence they gain from understanding it and even learning to enjoy it brings me joy as well. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, and painting.
