CenterDirectorDave Gonzalez, Owner/Center Director

Dave is the center director and owner of Mathnasium of Baldwin. Prior to opening his Mathnasium center, Dave was a Math for America Master Teacher Fellow working with new immigrant students in Brooklyn. He has an MS in Secondary Education of Mathematics from St. John’s University and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. As an experienced educator, Dave understands the fear and frustration many students have when they struggle with math and is committed to sharing the Mathnasium Method with children of all ages. He is enthusiastic about helping every child truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. Dave is married to his college sweetheart Sabrina and is the proud father to Sean and Isobel. In their spare time Dave and his family like to play chess, build robots, and solve Rubik's cubes.

CenterDirectorSabrina Yazdpour, Owner/Assistant Center Director

Sabrina is the assistant center director and co-owner of Mathnasium of Baldwin. Sabrina started her college career at the California Institute of Technology before completing her BS in Aerospace Engineering at the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. Sabrina enjoyed working on the space shuttle as a consultant for NASA until the program was canceled. Afterwards she applied her mathematical skills in the financial services industry. Sabrina understands the importance of a solid understanding of mathematics and the opportunities that become available in today’s increasingly technological world.  Along with her husband Dave, she is committed to ensuring each and every child who enters their center is able to catch up, keep up, and get ahead. An accomplished musician, Sabrina enjoys playing her violin as well as tending to her growing collection of orchids in her spare time.

Jenn, Instructor

Jenn is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at SUNY Old Westbury.  She wants to get a degree in math because it has always been one of her strengths but her long-term goal is to get into law school. Jenn likes helping people who say they dislike math and loves it when she can see their attitudes change. When she isn’t tutoring, Jenn enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and learning how to play the piano. She is also the proud owner of an adorable Chihuahua named Lucky.

Jenny, Instructor

Jenny is finishing up her Bachelor’s degree in Math Education as a student teacher at a couple neighborhood schools. As if that's not impressive enough, she already has a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from SUNY Cortland. Jenny is looking forward to expanding her horizons and gaining more strategies to help her students learn during her time here at Mathansium. When she isn’t tutoring, Jenny enjoys reading books and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys running and exercising.

Domenico, Instructor

Domenico is working towards Bachelor's degrees in both Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Fordham University. He was excited for the opportunity to become an instructor because he looks back fondly on his math classes and enjoyed having confusing ideas demystified. He wants to help others feel the same way as they learn topics more clearly. Domenico enjoys playing video games, building computers, and coding. He is also continuing the family tradition of playing the baritone horn.

Linda, Instructor

Linda is a high performing senior at JFK High School where she continues to tutor both middle and other high school students. She is very active in her school as a member of HOPE, Future Business Leaders of America and the Key Club, and plays badminton as well. Linda really enjoys teaching others because she believes that the ability to teach someone means she has truly mastered the skills and knowledge she is now helping others learn.
