Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Thomas Davis

Instructor
Thomas is a student at PGCC, working towards an associate's degree in Math Education. He plans on transferring to UMD, College Park afterwards to work on a bachelor's in the same field. He is passionate about working at Mathnasium because he believes Math is one of many subjects that is too important to be falling behind in. His primary hobby is collecting and organizing Lego which mainly consists of Star Wars. He also play video games and listen to music when he is not organizing his collection. Thomas favorite number is 14 because it is the day in October which he was born.

Kanisha Bernard

Instructor
Kanisha graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences in 2018 and is currently working as a Physical Science Technician. She is super excited to be a part of the Mathnasium of Beltsville team because she enjoys math, working with children, and giving back to the community. 5 is her favorite number because it’s easy to manipulate and it's predictable.

Patricia Liu

Instructor
Patricia is currently a senior at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in the Science and Tech program. She's taken Algebra I to Pre-Calculus and she is taking AP Calculus BC this school year. She's also taken many STEM courses like engineering, physics, architectural drafting and python. She wants to become a graphic designer and hope to pursue a design major at an art school. Patricia is passionate about working at Mathnasium because math is something that she understand quickly, and she wants math to be understood easily for more people. She want to change the minds of students who say math is impossible and unenjoyable. She hopes to make them realize that math can be a fun problem-solving process. She enjoys music, anime, games and art. She is the youngest in her family and she have an older twin sister. Her favorite number is 13 because it's a prime number, and it is the title of a series I loved to read when I was a child.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
