Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Jessie Wibbelsman

Assistant Center Director
Jessie has been with Mathnasium since October! She and her husband Drew have a 6th grader that they homeschool. She spends most of her "free" time at the ice rink watching her daughter and husband play ice hockey. They have recently moved to Bryant from Poyen and really enjoys it! Her favorite part of her job is meeting new kids and watching their faces when they have mastered a new skill!

Tomas Barajas

Instructor
Complex analyses and real analyses are Tomas' favorite types of math. He says his favorite thing about Mathnasium is "doing math". Indeed, during downtime, he can be found studying -- brushing up, learning, or reinforcing various math skills. The three words that he thinks best describes him are humble, broad-minded and adaptable. His motto is "Math is hard. So is life. Get over it!", which goes hand-in-hand with his definition of success, which is "Not giving up, even through the tougest of challenges." The best advice he ever got was "Failure isn't falling down; failure is staying down." Tomas' favorite number is i, which is the square root of -1, because "interesting things happen when you involve complex numbers." He wants to be an actuary or a cryptographer someday, and would most like to visit Spain. To our students, he says "If you fail, LEARN FROM IT!"

James Bellamy

Lead Instructor
Donatello (the Ninja Turtle, not the artist) is what James wanted to be when he was 5. He still isn't sure what his definition of success in life is yet, but he does know that his favorite thing about working at Mathnasium is watching students "get" math concepts. He's visited Germany and would love to visit there again. In his spare time he likes to read and sleep, and what people would find most surprising about him is that he plays ice hockey (and plays it well!). If he had a superpower, he hopes it would be invisibility, which would probably help him in hockey too! Algebra is his favorite type of math.

Grace Wells

Instructor
Grace's motto is "whatever you are, be a good one!" Grace is both a student and our newest instructor at Mathnasium. We welcome her aboard! Being a student, she is well versed in the Mathnasium method already! She is also a black belt in Karate. Grace wants our students to not be afraid of trying new things. So far, her greatest accomplishments have been making a CD and becoming a Mathnasium instructor. She would really like to meet Larry, the founder of Mathnasium.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
