Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

  Alex Ball

This is Alex Ball, the Lead Instructor for the Benton-Bryant Mathnasium Learning Center. He has lived in Saline County his entire life! He went through the Bryant School District from kindergarten all the way to graduation. He probably had some of the same teachers you all do now! Currently, he is a Donaghey Scholar at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock studying Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology. He plans on applying to medical school at UAMS to continue serving his community; just not with Math! His favorite part of working at Mathnasium is connecting with students and watching them blossom into AMAZING mini-mathematicians. Because he is still in college and close in age with our students, working with these kids is always a breeze. They laugh and learn all at the same time. We have a great staff and he enjoys working with each and every one of them. As the leader of our team, he emphasizes training at every opportunity: we never stop learning! Here at Mathnasium, you can trust your child will have an individualized learning plan.

  Hannah Grimes

Hannah graduated from Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts and is now pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. From a young age, Hannah was interested in mathematics. This led her to take classes like Calculus 3, Discrete Math, and Number Theory all before graduating high school. She also has competed in many Math Modeling competitions over the years. Hannah even won third place in the Congressional App Challenge for her two-year mathematical modeling research project.

  Eric Ostrom

As a high school senior at Bryant High, Eric has developed a passion for mathematics. By gauging a student’s strengths and weaknesses, Eric effectively helps students understand complex topics and strives to see their success and mastery. Eventually, he would like to go to UAMS, and pursue a career in the medical field

  Anthony McLain

Anthony is a senior at Bryant High School and is a member of the Hornet Engineering and Tech program, and participates in competitive robotics. Anthony enjoys working on various Math and Physics problems and aspires to collaborate on D-Wave computers. Anthony is happy to pass on his enjoyment for mathematics to other students, helping them develop a strong sense of arithmetic.

  Chris Barnard

Chris grew up in Benton, Arkansas. At an early age, he fell in love with math. Throughout middle school and into high school, he took all advanced and accelerated classes. Chris loves playing sports; basketball, football, and track are just a few. Chris says there is a lot of strategy in sports. Chris loves learning new things he didn't know before. As an athlete, winning is the main priority, and helping a kid learn a new subject always feels like a win to him.
