Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

CenterDirectorAmy Mast, Center Director & Owner

Amy is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Bloomington-Normal. In addition to opening the Mathnasium learning center, Amy works in statistical analysis where her love of math meets the real world.   She has a Masters in Industrial-Organizational/Social Psychology and Quantitative Psychology from Illinois State University. Following her early math success as a child, Amy went on to graduate from the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora, IL.   Amy is committed to helping every child in the Bloomington-Normal community truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. She has taught and tutored children of all ages on 2 continents and is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in our shared community. With a blended family including 8 kids and a loveable dog (Leia), Amy spends her personal time attending and encouraging her kids in a variety of activities throughout Bloomington-Normal and McLean County.

 Why Mathnasium? I have always enjoyed the structure of math. This led to my decision to pursue a career in high school math education. When I first heard of   Mathnasium from a former teacher, I knew it would be a great way to improve my skills as well as share my love of math with others.
