On the Road with Moostachio - August

I'm baaaaaaaack!!! Summertime fun is my specialty and so far I am the envy of all the moose in my neighborherd. Upon my return from the northland I decided that I needed to get some exercise to neutralize a bad case of jet lag. I am finding that coach seats don't have the leg room that they used to ........and don't get me started on the new carry-on policy. At least I don't have to worry about my shoes and belt as I go through security.

My cure for the jet-lag was a trip to a little local gem, Guadalupe State Park. I thought I would go for a little walk to stretch of the legs. Given that I have four legs I have to walk a little longer than most for maximum effect. There are some nice trails and a some fun little jaunts.....a very pleasant time to say the least.

The next item on the agenda was to take a dip in the beautiful Guadalupe River. It was fantastic seeing all of the families there (I'm not sure they had the same impression of me, however) and everyone having a good time. There are so many picturesque little spots along the river it was hard for me to decide where to begin the water portion of my afternoon.   With my stylish swimtrunks and watershoes (it's a little expensive having to buy two pairs) I finally found the ideal spot for my inaugural plunge. 1-2-3......Wow was the water cold......and this is a Moose talking.   I did not expect such a temperature when the thermometer said 100 degrees outside. I quickly acclimated and found myself just kicking back and enjoying a lazy day. I found a rock and pulled myself up and soaked up a little sun. I can't wait to try out my next activity........kayaking!!

As always, do more math,
