Miss Denise, Owner
Denise is the owner of four Mathnasiums in the Raleigh region: Mathnasium of Cary, Mathnasium of Brier Creek, Mathnasium of North Raleigh, and Mathnasium of Lead Mine. These award winning centers have been helping students across the greater Raleigh area develop the thinking skills and confidence they need to succeed in their math classes for over 10 years. Ms. Denise has a BS in Mathematics from Drexel Uniersity and her Master's degree from Cornell. Denise's passion for improving students' education is apparent: after spending 20 years at AT&T Bell Labs and Cisco systems, she embarked on a new journey with Mathnasium to fulfill her desire to give back to the community which helped her realize so much of her success. Under her directorship, each of her four Mathnasium locations have truly become community math learning centers.
Miss Veena, Director of Operations
Veena has a Masters in Education and has taught pre-kindergarten and substituted in the Wake County System Schools for several years. Veena is also the mother of two of the very first Mathnasium students in the country and has been part of the Mathnasium family as a parent and employee for over 12 years. Veena is clearly the glue that keeps our Mathnasium's running smoothly!
Mr. David, Center Director
David graduated from NC State University in Spring of 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics. He started working as a tutor at the beginning of 2017, but liked the work so much that he decided to join full time after graduating. David's favorite part about teaching is the satisfaction of getting a student to that moment where everything clicks and you can see how excited they are to understand.
Mr. Julian, Assistant Director
Julian graduated from Haverford College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He’s a native of Raleigh and is now back in his hometown to pass his knowledge on to the next generation! He looks forward to helping any student who comes his way reach their goals and grow as mathematicians.
Miss Amanda, Instructor
Amanda graduated from Muskingum University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and moved from Ohio to North Carolina in 2009. She has recently taught high school mathematics in Hertford County for five years, but currently teaches high school mathematics in Wake county, where she has taught for the past three years. Amanda has always loved math and working with students to improve their math skills.
Miss Keri, Instructor
Keri is a senior at UNC Chapel Hill where she is finishing up a Bachelor of Science in pure mathematics. She worked as a tutor at the UNC Mathematics Help Center for three years and was a teaching assistant for several undergraduate courses at UNC. She is passionate about mathematics education and enjoys helping students reach their academic goals while supporting them in the development of confidence in their abilities.
Miss Dani, Instructor
Hi! My name is Dani and I have worked at Mathnasium for the past 2 years. I love working with kids and have had a passion for math since I was a child. I’m graduating in May and plan to study Business and Computer Science in college. I grew up in Minnesota, and play ice hockey and tennis. I love working with kids because I find joy in their energy and creative minds. I love math because it challenges me, and each problem is like a new puzzle for me to solve.
