Winter Break: Fun and IMPORTANT
Dec 1, 2021
Children attend school 180 days each year. That’s 180 days of sitting in a classroom and even more time dedicated to homework. School can be such a fun place of learning and community but for some, it can also come with a large amount of stress. It is because of this why winter break is so important. Parents should use the winter break to reward their children after months of hard work.
Breaks encourage rest and give students the boost they need to do their best when they are back in class. Winter break enables them to relax and reflect on what they’ve learned while preparing them for their return to school.
Along with relaxation, summer break brings unique opportunities to learn and develop social skills. New educational and social experiences can happen at the park, or during family vacations and other outings where children can freely and organically practice appropriate interactions. These situations can help strengthen their comprehension of social cues through situations that would not typically happen in a structured classroom.
Make sure your kids enjoy the break, and make sure to enjoy it with them, they’ll return to school stronger for it.
