Jan, Center Director
Jan holds two master's degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has almost 20 years experience in the management consulting and biotech fields, specializing in operations. He has a life long passion for math. When not working, he spends time playing tennis, golf, swimming, racing triathlon and spending time with his wife and kids.
Gage, Lead Instructor
Gage has a mathemathics degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He plans to be a full-time high school teacher and is currently in the process of getting his teaching credentials. For the last five years, he has been sharing his passion for math by tutoring at the middle school and high school levels. He believes that anybody can learn math. He also believes that math is not only crucial to academic success but also to understanding how the world works. When he isn't teaching, he enjoys reading, listening to music, and solving puzzles.
Mary is a Biochemistry and Cell Biology major at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She has tutored math since high school and currently volunteers as a tutor with the UCSD education corps. When not teaching mathematics, she works part time in a biochemistry research laboratory, investigating fatty acid biosynthesis pathways. She is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician. In her free time, she enjoys running and knitting.
Molly holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego. She will be continuing her education by starting a Master's Program in Mathematics in the fall. Her plan is to ultimately earn a PhD in Math Education and become a college math professor. She loves teaching and sharing her excitement for math with all her students. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, playing softball, skiing and cooking.
Chris is a Mathematics major at California State University, San Marcos. He plans to continue his education in hope of one day teaching math at the college level. He finds great joy in sharing his passion for math and helping students understand difficult concepts. In his free time, he enjoys playing scocer, reading and spending time with friends.
John has a degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Califronia, San Diego. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Photonics. He has a love for teaching and has been tutoring math and phsyics since high school. In his free time, he likes to workout, be outdoors and try new things.
Amelia is a Mathematics and Economics major at the University of California, San Diego. Prior to relocating to San Diego, she taught at a college prep tutoring center in Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, lettering, and playing board games.
