PTA Continues STEM Partnership with Mathnasium

Sep 21, 2018

We are the official partner of the National PTA for the “M” in STEM. We are the only Math partner they’ve chosen because of our Mission, Focus, Methods, and Philosophy that ALL kids can learn Math.

What is STEM?

STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

STEM careers in the United States are growing faster than other professions.  The demand for qualified professionals is high, but the supply of workers to fill these positions is low - especially among women and minorities.  To meet the demand for qualified STEM professionals, the National PTA has a goal of helping students build the skills they need to pursue STEM degrees and career opportunities.

How can your family and school support and encourage STEM education?

First, know that you don’t have to be a STEM expert!  You can help your child by setting high expectations for academic performance, creating a learning environment at home, and asking guiding questions that encourage STEM career pathways.

What does your child need to succeed in Math?

According to the National PTA, “Parents and families strongly influence students’ perceptions about what is possible for their future.”  Whether your child needs improvement or enrichment, Mathnasium can help. A strong math foundation is one of the most important gifts you can give your child to help them achieve their goals now, throughout their academic career, and life.

We believe every student has the ability to be successful in math, it’s just a matter of teaching in a way that makes sense to them.  Give us a call and let’s talk about your Math goals and how we can help open doors of opportunities for your child (202) 618-1914.
