When COVID takes us low, we go HIGH in math!

Apr 27, 2020 | Cathedral Heights

Now more than ever, we want our NWDC students walking into math class this fall confident and prepared…. not just "getting by," but thriving and excelling.

We take seriously the NWEA’s projections for major academic impacts from COVID closures.  (In summary:  "Especially in mathematics, students are likely to show much smaller learning gains, returning with less than 50% of the learning gains and in some grades, nearly a full year behind what we would observe in normal conditions.")

"This situation is going to be like what is often called the summer slide, but on steroids," a Virginia school superintendent told NPR.

Whether in center or via video-conference, we will continue to do whatever it takes to advance our students during and after this school interruption.

Through our individualized instruction, dynamic learning plans, and engaging instruction, our NWDC students typically rise one grade level in math every 6 months.  So let’s get started NOW to prepare for August!
