Practice "Math In The Real World" With This Fun Subtraction Activity!
Mar 2, 2018
Parents, you know how important it is to read with your kids every day, but did you know that it's just as important to "math" with your kids every day? Just like with physical exercise, daily math practice, especially in elementary school, will build strong math "muscles" that will help kids grasp more challenging subject matter later.
One of those foundational math skills parents will want to practice early and often with their kids is subtraction. The more opportunities parents can find for their elementary age kids to sharpen essential real-world math skills the better. And subtraction is often one of those early math skills kids just don't like. But when kids use math consistently, it becomes second nature!
We have some great ideas to help parents "math" with their kids every day. Click here to check out our Math In The Real World: Subtraction Activity. Share it with your kids, your friends, and your kids' friends so you can practice together! Let us know in the comments how you and your family use subtraction every day.
If you want some more ideas for how to "math" with your kids, we've got some great games! We'll be playing some of those games at our Math Night on April 6th, 2018 at Desert Willow Elementary School! But if you just can't wait, come by the Mathnasium of Cave Creek Learning Center and we'll show you how to play them!
