Mathnasium of Cedar Rapids wants to introduce you to our Owner, Jeanne Giles.

Q: Why did you choose to own a Mathnasium center? A: I wanted to share my passion for math with local students.

Q: What do you like about the city your Mathnasium center is located in? A: I have lived in the area since 1985. Our kids grew up here. It is a great place to raise a family.

Q: Can you think of any way that your center has positively impacted the community that it’s located in? A: The positive impact we have had on students has a positive impact on the community.

Q: Did you like math when you were in grade school? A: Yes, I would always work ahead in my math book and had homework done long in advance of it being assigned. My dad was a math teacher and always ""math'd"" with us growing up.

Q: What do you think you would have liked most about Mathnasium if you had attended when you were in grade school? A: The reward cabinet, the games (and also the curriculum on percents and fractions)

Q: One last question, what’s something fun you enjoy doing in Cedar Rapids? A: Head to NewBo City Market, a community-based economic development that has become a cherished cultural and community gathering space with art, music, learning, and a range of activities that bring together visitors and neighbors alike. Inside, the Market is home to several startup and early-stage businesses that have a distinct focus on local products. Outside, the Market hosts several free and family friendly events such as evening concerts by local musicians, wellness activities like yoga and group bike rides, and several large community festivals which showcases the rich culture and wonderful talent thats homegrown in Iowa.
