Prior to Mathnasium, he was employed in senior management positions with several steel compnanies. His resume includes  operations, quality assurance, engineering, research, and procurement. About Mathnasium, he says "Math is the universal language that describes our world. The importance of math in everyday life is enormous! Math class in school, of course, but the arts, the sciences, athletics, commerce (shopping!), communication, all require mathematical ability. The well-trained Mathlete has a tremendous advantage in the competition that is life. Don't be left behind! Ready, set, learn!"

Center Director/OwnerSusie Mikaloff, Center Director/Owner

Susie is excited to bring her passion for math to the greater Centerville area. After teaching math in middle school, high school, and adult education for over 28 years, the prospect of sharing the Mathnasium method with the community is very exciting. "I left the classroom in 2005, but I never lost the desire to enrich children's lives with the love of math. When I heard an ad for Mathnasium on the radio, it sounded like an answer to a prayer. Upon learning more about the program, I fell in love with the method and knew we needed to share it with others. There could be no better legacy than to have a part in improving the math skills of the children in our community and instilling that excitement for math that comes from real understanding!" Susie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Valparaiso University in 1972 and a Master of Science degree from Purdue University in 1976. "My husband Glenn and I have 7 children, 15 grandchildren, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. When our grandchildren visit, they can't wait to come to Mathnasium!

InstructorErin Beckmeyer, Senior Instructor

Erin is a graduate of Valparaiso University, where she earned double degree in Physics and Philosophy, and was an associate in the Liberal Arts-focused honors program, Christ College. Prior to Mathnasium, she worked as a camp counselor, where she taught students of all ages skills such as archery, plant identification, and how to find the wiggliest worms. Surprisingly, she never cared much for math until halfway through a Calculus II class, when suddenly all of the disconnected facts, skills, and tricks from previous math classes fell into place and purpose within the big-picture scheme of math. She now sees math as an extremely versatile--and cool--language with which to describe. and thereby to understand, the world, and is  excited to work with students as they learn this language, acquire these skills, and apply this knowledge to their own experiences.
