Dave got his degree in Broadcast Management and spent a few years in the entertainment industry before switching to education. He studied secondary education at the University of Phoenix and scored 100% on the math portion of the Arizona Teacher Certification Exam. Dave has worked with kids as a Sunday school teacher and as a member of Valley Big Brothers. It is important for Dave to create an environment where math makes sense to kids, but is also a fun place to go to learn.
Howdy! My name is Emelia and I have been with Mathnasium since 2016. I’m passionate about helping kids learn to love math, specializing with higher-level math students. Locally grown, I was born and raised in Chandler, and graduated from Chandler High School in 2017. Currently, I am a student at ASU pursuing degrees in Geology and Anthropology, as well as a minor in Mathematics. Some of my favorite things to do outside of work are sailing on Tempe Town Lake and in California with the ASU Sailing Team, camping, sewing, community mutual aid, and playing with my cat, Boba. I’m also a member of the Southwest Paleontological Society, where I help in a lab cleaning fossils and go out to remote places to excavate prehistoric bones!

Hello, I’m Nick. I was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and I’ve been living in Chandler for over 12 years. I am currently enrolled at Mesa Community College studying Computer System engineering. I’ve been working for Mathnasium since I was a junior in high school, and I love math because it was the only thing that has remained the same ever since I came to the States. I hope that I can inspire a student to love math as much as I do, and I hope to see you at Mathnasium. Some hobbies of mine that I enjoy are watching movies, reading fiction, exercising, and traveling. Places I’ve been to are Lebanon, Senegal, Spain, Gabon, England, trucky, Canada, and Mexico.
Hi! My name is Nisha, and I'm an incoming freshman at ASU Barrett, planning to study biosciences on the pre-med track. I admire math for its systematic nature and emphasis on reason-based learning, so I am excited to work with inquisitive students. A fun fact about me is that the top of my fingers are strangely flexible (possibly associated with hypermobility joint syndrome, but I'm not sure). In my free time, some of my hobbies include dancing (semi/classical), experimenting with cursive calligraphy, playing badminton, and exploring new music genres/podcasts.
Hi! My name is Miranda, and I am a student at ASU studying supply chain management and fashion design. So, why math? I appreciate math for its beauty and logic, and for the satisfaction I get from circling the answer at the end. I am grateful for the opportunities in life math has given me, and I am happy to pass on mathematical thinking to other bright young minds. Believe it or not, I use math even when I create and design clothing. I hope one day to run my own fashion business and inspire others to express themselves with clothing and art. Besides my career aspirations, I enjoy watching cartoon T.V. shows, travelling, painting, and listening to music from artists such as Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. Most of all, I like to spend quality time with the people I love.
Hey! My name is Jack and I'm going into my junior year at Corona del Sol. I was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Chandler, Arizona when I was two years old and have lived here ever since. I will be taking AP Calculus next year. Mathematics has always been my favorite subject. Something I am very passionate about is music; I've been playing piano for 8 or 9 years and listen to music constantly. I also love spending quality time with my friends and family.
Hi everyone. I’m Patrick, or Pat if you’d like, and I am currently an accounting major at ASU. I’ve been raised in Arizona my whole life and I’ve always found that I do exceedingly well in math. After being recommended to Mathnasium by Nate, a former instructor, I felt that teaching others would be a perfect thing for me to do in order to utilize my skills and help others. I enjoy hiking and exercising when it is not hot out, and I have a passion for writing. It is one of my hopes that I can write a small series of books.
Hi! I’m Nikasha, and I’ve been with Mathnasium since July 2020. I’m a sophomore at Hamilton High School, currently taking AP Calculus BC. I’ve been in Arizona my whole life, but love to visit my family in India and California. Back in 2018, I went to a STEM workshop at the US Military Academy at West Point, and placed in a few math competitions during the school year. In the future, I’d like to become a business owner and/or work in finance. In my free time, I love to bake, sing (much to my family’s annoyance), and read.
Hi! My name is Lila, and I was previously a student at Mathnasium Chandler. With the help of Mathnasium I was able to develop skills and techniques that are helpful to this day. Math has always been my favorite subject for as long as I can remember, and that is why I chose a job where it doesn’t always feel like I’m working. I am a sophomore at Basis Ahwatukee now, and still I get to come to work every week in the hopes that I can influence a kid to love math just as much as I do. When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy volunteering at many local organizations, refereeing youth soccer games, and spending time with friends and family.
