Mathnasium: Through the Eyes of an Instructor

Mar 4, 2022 | Chula Vista

Even though I've only been here a month, these kids have improved a lot. I'm witnessing with my own eyes their wheels turning, their passion growing and mathematical fluency increasing. As a new instructor, I find myself learning my students' quirks. I try to figure out how to communicate with them, how they want to learn. I always try to make learning fun and engaging. My students and the students of my peers love learning in the Mathnasium way. They love finally understanding the material that has stumped them in school. Their eyes light up when they can apply their interests to math. One student that comes to mind instantly understands the topic we are working on when I put it into video game terms. As an instructor, I try to not only fascilitate learning but academic communication and comradery. Going to Mathnasium is not only a place to learn about math, it is a place to learn about life, to struggle together and grow together.
