Justin Alexander, Center Director
Justin began working at Mathnasium of Fullerton in 2014 where he served as Lead Instructor for over two years. He began his journey at Mathnasium because of his passion for working with kids. In the past, Justin worked as a Tae Kwon Do instructor and learned just how rewarding working with kids could be. Justin has always enjoyed math but his love for the subject really took off when he started taking math classes at the Cal State Fullerton. Justin understands the difficulties that students can have with math and can provide a unique level of insight when it comes to making math make sense for his students. Justin's ultimate goal is to help students to understand math and become mathematically fluent. Similar to his fellow mathletes, he has other non-academic hobbies including painting and model building.
Ines Cardona, Lead Instructor
Ines is working on her Bachelors' Degree in Mathematics, and is on the teaching track. Ines believes mathematics is a subject that can be fun and exciting, but also understands that sometimes it is difficult to understand. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family. Ines thinks it is amazing to be able to help kids accomplish so much, taking it step by step.
Joel Holland, Lead Instructor
Joel is currently enrolled at Chaffey College, working toward his Associate's in Nursing. He enjoys teaching math and has tutored several students, ranging from elementary through college. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer and watching superhero movies. Joel loves seeing the moment when a student "gets it" and he looks forward to helping as many students as he can at Mathnasium.
Nicolas Tedesco, Lead Instructor
Nick is studying to become a mathematics professor. Nick currently owns four Associates Degrees and is tri-lingual. In his free time he likes to be with family and friends as well as practice the languages he knows which are English, Spanish, and ASL. He feels that knowing these languages allows him to help students become fluent in the language of mathematics!
Josh Boyak, Instructor
Josh is a college graduate from La Sierra University in Riverside with a Bachelor’s Degree in English with an emphasis in writing. Although he dreams of one day becoming a successful author, he also thinks of math as an essential life skill, and gets great enjoyment in clarifying complex and complicated problems and concepts. His hobbies include drawing and listening to music.
Ruth Carias, Instructor
Ruth is an Environmental Science Major at the University of California, Riverside. She enjoys traveling to different countries for tourism and volunteering. During her free time she enjoys photography, going to the beach, and attending concerts. She loves working with kids and her goal is to ensure every student leaves Mathnasium confident with their understanding of math.
Ian Dimapasok, Instructor
Ian is a math major at the University of California, Riverside. Since he is a math major, he enjoys and is enthusiastic about doing math and wants to show how fun math can be for students. Ian is a huge basketball fan, an avid fan of the Lakers and would one day want to apply his math skills to the game of basketball.
Edwin Jimenez, Instructor
Edwin is receiving a Bachelor of Arts in the field of Psychology. Although math seems tricky to solve, he has the patience to solve problems and the skills to guide children to success. He enjoys traveling, especially sightseeing places he has not visited before. Math is essential and there is no better place to learn math skills than Mathnasium!
Mohammed Kanawati, Instructor
Mohammad began his first year at Norco College in the Fall of 2016, and he is majoring in Business Finance. He hopes to one day become a Finance manager for a top company. He graduated from Santiago High School, and while there, was on the wrestling team his first two years and the tennis team his last two years. Mohammad has always excelled in math and over the years he has gained an appreciation for the subject, and would like to help our students love math as much as he does now.
Mohammed Khalaf, Instructor
Mohammed is currently attending University of California, Riverside. He is currently majoring in Biology, but also has a passion for math because he sees math problems as a puzzle and enjoys solving them. He also loves playing basketball, and is a huge Lakers fan.
Kurt Kreeger, Instructor
Kurt is a Theatre, Film, and Digital Production major at U.C. Riverside with an emphasis in directing. He has a great appreciation for the arts, specifically music and film. Kurt also loves video games, tabletop RPGs, and going on adventures. Math has always been an interest of Kurt's, especially it's application on a day-to-day basis. Kurt looks forward to helping students see the way math is used in every day life, including music, movies & more!
Nina Nester, Instructor
Nina attends UC Riverside as a chemical engineering undergraduate student with a minor in mathematics. She enjoys the way math can be implemented into daily activities. Helping others understand math is important for Nina because she understands the frustration many go through. As an instructor at Mathnasium, she hopes to help students just as much as she does. Teaching the younger generations the way math is used in the world inspires her to make her own discoveries. One day, Nina hopes to be a part of NASA and discover the unknown. In her free time she enjoys doing makeup, going to the beach, and playing with her dog.
Xavier Perez, Instructor
Xavier is currently a math and computer science major at Norco College. He has tutored in math for 2 years. For fun, Xavier likes to play video games and bowl at the local bowling alley. Xavier would like to prove that math is fun!
