Requirements:

Aptitude to work and teach math concepts to students from 1st to 12th grade
-
Must be fluent in elementary, middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra I & II
-
Excellent communication skills with a sense of humor and an upbeat attitude

An open mind readily able to learn the Mathnasium teaching method
-
Committed, reliable and passionate about working with children

Must pass Math and Algebra Literacy Tests
Responsibilities:
Training in the Mathnasium Method will be provided and interested candidates are encouraged to visit the Mathnasium web site to learn more about our teaching culture. Instructors must be willing to work 2 or more days per week (up to 4 hours in any given day).

Explaining and illustrating math topics using a variety of strategies using the Mathnasium Method of Instruction

Assisting with homework
-
Interacting and motivating students during the instruction hour

Evaluating and rewarding student daily progress
-
Completing administrative tasks as assigned including daily opening and closing tasks
Hours:
Mon. -Thurs. 3 -7 pm Fri. 3 - 5 pm Sun. 11 am - 1 pm
A minimum of 8 hours with a maximum of 20 hours per week are available
College students with excellent math skills and a love of working with children of all ages are encouraged to apply.
