Get ready to STEM - - we are hosting Camp Mathnasium this summer!!
Our Dadeland center campers will explore math through science, art, and technology.
During our five-day camp, kids will explore math through science experiments, geometric art, screen-free coding, engineering projects, game theory, and so much more!
Day 1:
We jump right into the fun with states of matter! From non-Newtonian fluids to rocks and lava, there is a lot to learn about! We conduct our very own experiment to determine slime’s state of matter. During our snack break, we’ll discuss the states of matter on our planet Earth, from the core right up through the atmosphere!
Day 2:
We look at the simple math behind coding. Many people are intimidated by the binary system. Once the kids get to experience the ease of calculating binary numbers and creating simple computing codes, we’re sure they will be excited to tell you all about it after camp!
Day 3:
Not one to be missed - We are going to have a blast!! Today we build a marshmallow-launching catapult. Between building and launching catapults, kids explore engineering while also getting their feet wet with a bit physics.
Day 4:
How we can find math in everything around us – not just at Camp Mathnasium?! Kids will learn how to collect/interpret/analyze data and make conclusions. We also look at the math that shows up even in a simple game of Tic-Tac-Toe! Your critical thinking skills will be sharpened today for sure!
