Our math and STEM mentorship team helps gifted and advanced students with math enrichment throughout the school year and during the summer. Mathnasium of Englewood's learning plans are customized to each student and taught by our team of instructors and math tutors empowered to inspire and excite. We do not take a one-size fits all approach. We know your child is unique and they deserve a unique learning plan to address their personal math foundation gaps. We then teach math in a way that makes sense to them. Working with our math instructors at our Englewood Math Learning Center on individual learning plan, math homework, and test prep help leads to greater confidence and abilities in math.
How do I get my student started at Mathnasium of Englewood?
The first step in our enrollment process is to take the Math Assessment.
This assessment gives us insight about the student's strengths or gaps in their math abilities. From there, we are able to create a customized curriculum for the student based on their abilities and math goals. Our program is designed to meet the individual student’s current ability and learning style, and then build a custom learning plan specific to the student. It's not a one size fits all approach.
Once the Math Assessment is completed, what comes next?
Becoming a member at Mathnasium of Englewood is both flexible and easy. You can initiate your membership at any time and immediately begin benefitting from the Mathnasium experience.
When can my child come to Mathnasium of Englewood and how often each week?
Joining the Mathnasium of Englewood's family is flexible and easy. And, we make coming in for sessions as stress-free as possible with our Flexible Drop-In approach. Most students attend 2 to 4 times per week, but you do not need to schedule your time. Students can simply come in during our instruction windows at a time that is convenient for them.
Is the math tutoring 1 on 1?
With each student having an individual learning plan, and individual learning style, our instructors are teaching each student individually. During a child’s math tutoring at Mathnasium of Englewood, the instructor is going to actively teach the math and review math subjects with the student. Then, as the student starts to show an understanding the instructor will ask the child to work on few problems independently. This gives them the time to process this new math information without the pressure. It also prevents a "learned helplessness" where the student feels that they need the instructor sitting in front of them all the time in order to be successful.
The instructor will monitor and check each problem to ensure your child is completing the problems correctly. If we find they are making an error, we are able to step in before it becomes a habit and reteach the concept using a different method until the student truly shows an understanding of it. This helps your child to become a confident, independent learner.
