CenterDirectorRida Alami, Owner and Center Director

Rida Alami brings a very interesting perspective to Mathnasium. She is an educator with more than 15 years of experience teaching elementary school and a mom of 2 school age children. She understands the challenges our kids face in learning math. Rida has a Master’s degree in Education from George Washington University and is a licensed K-12 teacher in the District and Virginia. Rida discovered Mathnasium as a Mathlete parent herself. After enrolling her daughter in a Mathnasium program, she was impressed with the comprehensive assessment and the progress her daughter made in a short period of time. Rida picked Falls Church knowing that the Falls Church area parents care about their children education and want the best results at an affordable price. She believes Mathnasium can change children's attitude towards math. Rida and the team of Mathnasium of Falls Church are committed to helping children understand and appreciate math. With understanding come confidence and a passion for learning that transcends to all subjects. We are proud to bring the Mathnasium Method to your children and are happy to be your neighborhood center.

I love Mathnasium because: It is a place that truly makes a difference to students who are struggling. I enjoy watching their curiosity flourish and confidence grow after each solved problem; and it is exciting to be a part of it.

Favorite Math Joke: A mathematician and an engineer are on desert island. They find two palm trees with one coconut each. The engineer climbs up one tree, gets the coconut, and eats it. The mathematician climbs up his tree, gets the coconut, climbs the other tree and puts it there. "Now we've reduced it to a problem we know how to solve."

That is something I value very much for every student I teach.
