At Mathnasium, we help kids understand math by teaching the way that makes sense to them. Children who consistently attend sessions at our learning centers enjoy a transformative learning experience and make huge strides in the classroom.

Attitude: When math makes sense, kids develop a more positive attitude toward math.

Understanding: Mathnasium teaches for understanding, giving students the ability to succeed in any math environment. As Larry Martinek, Mathnasium’s Chief Instructional Officer notes, “It's pretty easy to forget things you memorize and near impossible to forget things you understand."

School Progress: When kids learn math in a way that they truly understand, they achieve greater success in the classroom.

"It is incredible what Mathnasium has done for our daughter. In less than 9 months she got from getting C/D a year behind her class to getting a B+ in her 4th grade class. The change in her self-esteem related to Math cannot be described in words. She is no longer afraid of the tests. She is very confident and enjoy Math exercises. Finding Mathnasium was the best thing it happen to Julia's school life. Thank you!"

"I highly recommend Mathnasium of Fresh Pond! Here's what I like most about Mathnasium:  First, all work is completed at the Center with no homework.   Even the school textbooks are available at the Center (for current homework help).  So the kids don't need to take anything there or bring anything home and there's nothing for me to keep track of or remind them about.  Second, my kids received customized learning plans based on written assessments that identified their strengths and weaknesses.  I feel confident they are working on just the right topics at Mathnasium."

“My son, who has struggled with some math concepts, enjoys his time with you so much. He says the instructors are all so, so nice, and for him, the cards he can get stamped to earn prizes, and the snacks(!) are both very motivating. I am so grateful that you are helping him increase not only his own math confidence and knowledge, but that he enjoys his time there and is encouraged to keep on learning. I also very much appreciate the feedback we get on each of his sessions; that is very valuable to me.”

Alix G.

“I really appreciate the session notes from the instructors. I feel like for the first time I understand my child as a math student and have better information to help her learn how to be successful.”

Maura F.

“The teachers that you have provide the challenge and the stimulation that my son craves. My son really enjoys attending and looks forward to his weekly sessions. The addition of the cards for prizes just adds to his excitement. It works for him and for that I am happy.”

“I used to hate math but now I’ve learned to love it.

T. G., 14

Mathnasium got me through Algebra-I would have failed. I have often come in totally perplexed by a subject, and leave having mastered it. I get more help in one session here than in a whole week at school.

Robert M., 14

“My favorite thing about Mathnasium is that I can always ask for help, and that the people helping me always make sure I fully understand.

Sarah L., 13
