Their overall approach is very systematic. Beg with their thorough evals of the students' skills covering a range of math topics and problem types (seeing thereby where help is more so needed), to the superior match skills and patience of the tutors to the raneg fo types of help they offer--ie, immediate homework is often a focus for us so that my son can get the support he's needing in real time. My son has gone to see this office, either in person or virtually, off and on, between grades 3-11. He's a junior now and the latest materials--incl trig and calculus, the tutors have just as well rounded an approach to same as they would the grade 3 long division.

We have had a great experience at Mathnasium. My daughter (7th grade) loves going to class and calls it "math zen"-- the calm environment combined with the individual attention targeted at the areas where she needs reinforcement has really worked for her. She has really enjoyed working with all of the instructors. We have seen a huge improvement in her confidence in her math skills.

We’ve been with Mathnasium for many years now and love the personal approach and study plan tailored to my son’s needs. We have had a great experience with Mathnasium this past year. The instructors have all been superb and really attentive to my daughter via Zoom (and patient). I am so pleased overhearing their interactions... I feel like they are genuinely invested in her growth as a math student and learner. The material is complementary to what she's learning in school and is helping her confidence too.

We signed up for Mathnasium because my Granddaughter was anxious about doing math after remote learning for the previous year and a half. Mathnasium was able to work with her to overcome her anxiety and begin to learn again. She's now able to do her work with confidence due to the Mathnasium program and it's patient, knowledge educators. We are very grateful for the program.

Very thankful for the very attentive staff at the Belmont Mathnasium! I was initially concerned that there were rotating teachers working with my daughter, but they are all top notch - and she's actually developed a relationship with many of them. They are patient and kind... I definitely see an improvement in my daughter's math skills and conceptual thinking. Also, if we have the option of online continuing, this is the only class she took through the pandemic we'd opt to do that. It has worked really well for her, as opposed to all other Zoom classes (as long as she's in a quiet space)! Thank you!

We are very happy at Mathnasium! My son was at another program for years and at some point things were lost on him. The course was designed to keep the group moving, not giving individual attention. There was also a lot of homework which was difficult because he did not always understand the concepts. Mathnasium has been able to fill in the gaps and build confidence. The more individualized approach has been quite positive. The classes are active and lots of work is accomplished. And mastery quizzes are given to make sure it’s ok to move forward.

Mathnasium staff have always been flexible and accommodating, and easy to schedule. It is comforting to know that in this period of less hours in school, math skills continue to progress for my 8th grader. We rely on the daily progress notes to determine how the session went, and monthly progress reports have been helpful at determine rate of acquisition. We are very grateful to the tutors and directors for all of their consistently hard work!

We really appreciate the individualized attention, and have definitely seen results in terms of our son's enthusiasm and general sense of empowerment around solving challenging math problems. He doesn't give up as easily as he used to, and has even stated that math is currently his favorite subject, which was not the case before.

Mathnasium has been great so far for my daughter. She used to be afraid of math but after joining Mathnasium, her view towards math changed and now she is more confident and comfortable with math. Credit goes to the stuffs, they are very experienced and friendly. Their flexible schedule is another key point that helped us choose this service among many others.

Everyone is incredibly supportive and accommodating. The communication note following each session provides immediate feedback and information about the session, and lets families monitor progress. Decisions related to assessments and curriculum are data-driven and a progress report each month has been helpful at determining both the rate of skill acquisition and specifically what skills are being targetted. They really provide support that works for the individual student, which we could not be happier about! Attending Mathnasium has really increased confidence and understanding of math concepts for our 8th grader!

Online math sessions have been working out well so far. We had some technical difficulties ( my internet was having issues), which got eventually solved. I will be in a better position to give an overall satisfactory assessment in a couple of weeks, considering I just joined Mathnasium online a month ago.

My kids are not math wiz kids. They really benefit from Mathnasium. . Their Mathnasium sessions have helped them keep up their skills over the summer and transition to a new school year quite easily. The tutors are very patient both with my kids and my insane schedule and technical difficulties at home. The program is very flexible and administrative staff very supportive. Thank you for keeping their brains active during a long isolated covid year!

My boys started in the in-center classes and then moved to the virtual platform in April. They really enjoy the mix of independent work and guidance from the tutors and have no problem participating online. They look forward to each session. I like that I can see their progress after each session including exactly what topics were covered, what aspects were more challenging for my child, and how they are advancing in their tailored curriculum. Given the challenges getting remote learning up to speed at their schools, it has been a relief to know that my children are at least continuing to progress in math.

Remote learning has been an amazing experience! My child receives the same attention online as she did at the physical location. She actually enjoys the online experience more because she is able to focus without distractions around her, and have dedicated assistance when she needs it. Since the future of in person learning is unknown in general, Mathnasium has made the online experience easy to use for students, and parents.
The personal attention she receives during her sessions are helpful, fun, and meaningful. She’s still able to play games at the end of her lesson and have a positive interaction with her instructor. I highly recommend Mathnasium!

We've been a Mathnasium Fresh Pond family for about three years and our children continue to benefit from the small group instruction. The curriculum is flexible and allows us to add areas in need of review and reiteration and subtract areas that have been mastered. The recent switch to virtual sessions was smooth and has allowed us to add an additional session per week because the travel time and logistics are no longer a factor. Thank you!

Consistently supportive of my child's progress, even during tough topics or days when he's not as productive or attentive. All tutors - every single one of them - is positive, friendly, and use a sense of humor while teaching math. Concepts are broken down and practiced in ways that help my child access the material more easily. In the 15 months that he's been attending Mathnasium, he's completely transformed into a much more confident math student! Especially now with inconsistently effective instruction delivery through school, we confidently rely on Mathnasium to ensure he is making steady progress in Math throughout the school closure. We are only 8 sessions in but so far the experience has been great! My son was opposed to math before entering the program. After two sessions he was all for math in general AND became enthusiastic about Mathnasium. Never a whine or whimper when we are in transit to the program. He stated “all adults are helpful” at Mathnasium which is very different from the feedback he provides about his school experience. My son smiles at pick up, every session.

After trying a number of other math centers, this is the first place that helped Danny feel like a successful math student both in and out of school! Math went from his most frustrating subject to his easiest in under a year of beginning to attend Mathnasium. I could not be happier with his progress, the knowledgeable staff, and consistent, frequent communication. I'd highly recommend Mathnasium to anyone who has a child struggling in Math!

The Fresh Pond Center is the best. Wonderful caring staff. Warm, inviting environment. Efficient. My son loves going to Mathnasium. We’ve moved from the Cambridge/Belmont area to a nearby town but we still go to the Fresh Pond Center because we love it. There is a Mathnasium less than 1 mile away, but we prefer to drive the 7 miles to Fresh Pond.

After years of trying a number of different tutoring programs and frequent nights of arguments and tears over math homework, Danny is for the first confident in math and completes homework without difficulty. He even considers Math to be his favorite class in school now! His math scores on standardized tests even improved after a few months of attending Mathnasium. He is re-assessed every few months, and an instructional plan is created based on his individual performance. We are informed of his progress at the end of each session as well so the on-going communication is very helpful. It's been really refreshing to see Danny learn math effectively and feel successful in the subject for the first time!
