Dawn Sheriff, Owner
Dawn Sheriff is the Owner & Center Director at Mathnasium of Greenville Five Forks. With 20+ years in education, Dawn has teaching experience ranging from preschool through high school. Dawn is passionate about helping children and believes early intervention can help every child succeed. She has an MLIS from University of South Carolina and a BA in Secondary Education from Clemson University. Watching her own children struggle in both private and public programs has shaped her feelings about education. Dawn is excited about the opportunity to help every child in the Greenville community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. She has taught and tutored children of all ages, and she is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community.
Jennifer Howe, Center Director
Jennifer Howe recently graduated from Clemson University with a BA is Psychology. She has always had a passion for math and loves discovering new, unique ways to solve problems. She also loves getting to watch children grow and flourish as Mathnasium students! Seeing a student’s confidence and love for math grow is her favorite part of the job. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, playing board games, and spending time with friends and family.
Ed Alport, ACD Education Specialist
Ed is retired from a career in engineering. He is a master of systems and processes. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife Karen and teaching math to students of all ages. You will often see him working at the front desk as well as working with students. He can do it all! As the Mauldin Elementary 4th graders say, "Ed is AWESOME!" We are simply thrilled to have him as part of Team Mathnasium!
Andy Moehlenbrock, Lead Instructor
Andy is retired from life as an engineer. His work history includes years at both Sealed Air Corporation and Kemet Electronics. These days, he is enjoying retirement teaching others math and spending time with his grandchildren. Andy and his wife Maxine welcomed grandchild #6 in early August 2017, and he thinks retirement will be the best years yet. We are so happy he's choosing to share his love of math with our students every day!
Emily Styer, Lead Instructor
Hard math? Never heard of it! Emily and her husband recently moved to our area from North Charleston where she formerly worked for the Mathnasium Summerville team. This fall, she will be working at Woodmont High School as their Honors/AP/IB Coordinator. We are super-excited to have her as part of our Rock-Star Math Team!
Rene Brewer, Lead Instructor
Mrs. Renee LOVES math! After retiring from a career in restaurant management, she has happily joined our Mathnasium team to share her love of math with others. She and her husband Ben have two fur babies, Paco and Lola, that enjoy walks in the park and nap time with Ben. Her patience and kindness are inspiring. We are so glad to have her as part of the Mathnasium team!
Mason Ingalls, Instructor
Mason is a senior at Clemson University majoring in mathematics with an emphasis in actuarial science. He is originally from Hanahan, SC where he enjoys working with the drum line at band camp each summer. He is also a proud member of the Tiger Band! He's an awesome instructor working with all of our upper level mathematics students.
Kyle Grogan, Instructor
Kyle is currently a senior at Clemson University where he is majoring in Psychology. With all his math wizardry, he will also be getting a minor in mathematics! He enjoys teaching math to our high school math students.
Nicole Weibelhaus, Instructor
By day, Nicole is a teacher at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School where she teaches 5th through 8th grade math. Evenings and weekends, she is a favorite instructor with us! Her hobbies include reading, writing and playing volleyball. What does she love about math? She says, "I love math because it makes sense! I have a logical mind and I like the fact that math is a puzzle that always has an answer."
Jay Ferguson, Instructor
Jay is a Mauldin High School Senior who enjoys playing baseball in his free time. In the fall, he plans to attend Clemson University. We're so glad to have him as part of our Mathnasium Team!
Dean Centa, Instructor
Dean is a senior at Mauldin High School. He enjoys playing chess with our students at the end of their Mathnasium hour when time allows. (He is also Jennifer Centa's big brother, so they will often be working at the center at the same time!) We're so glad they are both here!
Jennifer Centa, Instructor
Jennifer is a sophomore at Mauldin High School. She enjoys playing tennis and violin. She's also has a black belt in karate! She is a wonderful addition to our Mathnasium team and we're so glad she's here!
Sydney Beraho, Instructor
Sydney attends J. L. Mann High School where she plays violin. She also plays for the Young Artist's Orchestra of Greenville County Youth Orchestras. Her different club activities at school include co-president of the Atlas Club and member of the French Club. She says she likes math because she finds it very satisfying to solve problems and it applies to a lot of situations in life.
