Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

Owner/CenterDirectorDawn Sheriff, Owner

Dawn Sheriff is the Owner & Center Director at Mathnasium of Greenville Five Forks. With 20+ years in education, Dawn has teaching experience ranging from preschool through high school. Dawn is passionate about helping children and believes early intervention can help every child succeed. She has an MLIS from University of South Carolina and a BA in Secondary Education from Clemson University. Watching her own children struggle in both private and public programs has shaped her feelings about education. Dawn is excited about the opportunity to help every child in the Greenville community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. She has taught and tutored children of all ages, and she is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the Greenville community.

Sharon Mattox, Client Care Specialist & Director
Sharon recently retired from a career in the classroom, but she is so happy to be back in a child-supporting role! She is loving seeing some familiar faces and enjoying the freedom and flexibility our program allows her in this season of life. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and traveling. We're so glad she's here!

Ed Alport, Lead Instrucor

Ed is a retired engineer with a lifetime of math skills. In his free time, he and his wife, Karen, enjoy travelling the world. (His favorite food is Thai!) His career with applied mathematics resonates with our high school students because he can testify that you really can use this math in real life! He enjoys the challenging homework students bring in and often brings in challenging problems for the rest of the team to exercise our math muscles.

 Jonathan Huettig, Instructor

Jonathan is a senior at Bob Jones Academy. He is ready for any challenge with an excellent attention to detail and ability to focus. In his free time, he helps his younger siblings with their homework and enjoys playing basketball. His older sister Abigail also works at our Simpsonville center! We are thankful he's a part of our team!

Hannah Brooks, Instructor

Hannah is  senior at Mauldin High School and part of the Mavs Mu Alpha Theta team. Hannah is amazing at teaching complex math concepts to each student on his or her level. She is a natural teacher with a sweet disposition that kids are drawn to. She teaches at both our Woodruff Rd location and our center in Simpsonville. We are so happy she's here!

Ben Holden, Instructor

Ben is a senior at Mauldin High School taking AP Statistics and Calculus BC this year. His quiet and patient approach make him an excellent instructor. He really enjoys teaching for those "Aha!" moments.  He is a total math rock star!

 Jennifer Centa, Instructor

Jennifer is a senior at Mauldin High School who is good at everything she does! She has a black belt in karate, plays piano competitively, competes with the Mavs Mu Alpha Theta Team and is also an excellent tennis player. The little free time she has, she works with our team and is fantastic. She is patient and brings calm and success to those she works with. We are thankful she's a part of our team!

Andrew Erion, Instructor

Andrew is a J.L. Mann student who is a Mathnasium graduate! After finishing our Pre-Calculus content last year, Andrew was welcomed to our Mathnasium team. He hopes to attend Clemson University and plans to pursue a degree in engineering. In his free time, Andrew runs XC, particpates in ROTC drills and leads in his Boy Scout Troop.

Ashita Tripathi, Instructor

Ashita is a senior at J.L. Mann High School. Her ability to work quickly and connect with students is admirable. As a former karate instructor, she has a disciplined approach to her work. She loves working at Mathnasium because she loves working with kids and helping them do well in math is like icing on the cake!

Aaron Zhao, Instructor

Aaron is a senior at Riverside High School and president of the Mu Alpha Theta Team. Aaron is a total math rock star, but he keeps us in stitches with his infectious smile and funny stories! He really knows how to make math fun! I'm not sure if he will end up being a stand-up comic or an engineer, but either way, this guy is going places!

MATHNASIUM @HOME TEAM:

Kyle Grogan, @Home Admin & Lead Instructor

Kyle is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Sociology. He recently moved out of state and plans to pusue a graduate degree at University of Ohio. In his free time he loves to play video games, but by day he is math rock star! Because he is so computer savvy, he is our chief online administrator. Although he enjoys all areas of math, his favorite is Statistics and Probability. If you need help in Prob and Stats, he is your guy! Kyle is also available for online private sessions for High School students in upper level courses.

Aanem Hasnie, @Home  Instructor

Aanem is a senior at Riverside High School. She enjoys competing with her school's Mu Alpha Theta team and is also involved with Youth in Government. She loves helping younger kids with math because it's one of her favorite subjects. One thing that she loves most about math is that it is applied to so many different careers--especially medicine! Even though her college plans are not quite settled, Aanem plans to become a physician.

Ashley Holland, @Home Instructor

Ashley is a sophomore at Florida State University, where she is studying Neuroscience. She is also involved in a sorority as well as other clubs at FSU! Ashley absolutely loves working with children, so Mathnasium was the perfect opportunity for that! In the future, she also plans to attend medical school to become a physician.
