Sharon Mattox

Client Care Specialist
Sharon is retired from a career in the classroom, but she is so happy to be back in a child-supporting role! She is loving seeing some familiar faces and enjoying the freedom and flexibility our program allows her in this season of life. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and traveling. We're so glad she's here!

Favorite Number: My favorite number is 100 because that is what I want all our students to earn on every math test they take!

Favorite Math Joke: Where is the best place to sit in a room if you are feeling cold? ... The corner, because it's always 90 degrees!

I love Mathnasium because: It provides me an opportunity to help young folks become proficient in math, to excel in their current classes and be well-prepared for their higher education math courses in college. In addition, I love answering the question, "How is any of this ever used?" As a mechanical engineer, I can provide the students ample examples of how useful math is to everyday life. In fact, life would not exist, as we know it, without math.

Favorite Number: My favorite number is 17 because growing up our family's street number was 17171 - not only does it have two 17's in it, it also adds up to 17!

Favorite Math Joke: Circle one: <,>, or = "no matter where you go, there you'll be." !

I love Mathnasium because: When the students gain confidence in learning math, their grades in other subjects improve too.

Favorite number: My favorite number is 2π radians because it makes a full circle, just like many moments in life that bring you full circle.

Favorite math joke: Parallel lines have so much in common. It's a shame they'll never meet!

Why I Love Mathnasium: I love mathnasium because I love being there for the moments when math clicks in a student's head. I love getting to be a part of the breakthroughs that help students unlock all kinds of possibilities.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
