Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

Lesa Bishop, Owner/Center Director

My name is Lesa Bishop and I am the Owner/Center Director here at Mathnasium of Highlands Ranch.  I wanted to let you know a little bit about myself.  I am a licensed teacher with 8+ years’ experience teaching in Douglas County School District and Denver Public Schools.  I have two daughters, a senior and a junior, who attend Ponderosa High School.  As a family, we love to camp, hike, and watch the Broncos.  I also enjoy horseback riding, reading mysteries, and relaxing with my dogs.

One of the reasons my husband and I were drawn to Mathnasium is that we witnessed the positive results as parents of a daughter who struggled with math. During her middle school years we enrolled her at Mathnasium and we saw her grow her confidence in math and the gaps in her math education filled.  This experience was the driving force behind our desire to own our own center so we could help children catch up, keep up, and get ahead.  I fell in love with Mathnasium, because I believe the Mathnasium Method can help students “get” math.

Each day, I make it my goal to ensure that students have an effective, engaging, and encouraging learning experience that cultivates an intuitive understanding of math.  At Mathnasium, we offer the tools to help young learners improve critical math skills and understanding, regardless of their current ability level.  We look forward to working with you and helping you build a successful future for your child.
