Maria Khaw, Owner and Center Director
Hannah Khaw, Center Director
Hannah is Center Director at Mathnasium of Hillsboro. She studied at Portland Community College and earned a degree in the medical field as a Dental Assistant. Growing up, Hannah found math a challenging yet rewarding subject, often helping younger siblings with their math studies. Hannah is passionate about helping kids in her community feel confident in math and understand math in a way that makes sense to them. On her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with her dog, sewing, and reading books by the fireplace on a typical, rainy Oregon evening.
Lydia Khaw, Lead Instructor
Lydia is an instructor at Mathnasium of Hillsboro. She is finishing her Senior year of high school and attending PCC. When first learning math, she tended to struggle. Soon though, she found that math could be easily understood if taught and explained by different methods. Working for Mathnasium, she wants others to feel confident and excited about math as well.
Jean Georges, Instructor
Jean is an instructor at Mathnasium of Hillsboro. He studied at Florida Atlantic University where he earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jean tutored math for 4 years while attending college. He has been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) for several years. Jean is passionate about teaching math just because everyone uses it on a daily basis. He finds it inspiring to teach math at Mathnasium because they allow him to teach math in a fun way, making a difference in kids' life.
Alaina Arp, Instructor
Ian Truong, Instructor
I currently attend Liberty High School and plan to go to a 4 year college to study computer science. My dream schools are U.C. Berkeley and U.C.L.A. I take math two grades ahead, and enjoy doing math as it's something logical and only has one right answer unlike something like English. I enjoy helping others learn and understand things, as it makes both me and the other person feel good about ourselves.
Vincent Khamkhosy, Instructor
