Math Instructors Needed

Mathnasium of Humble South is looking for enthusiastic and math-talented individuals who:

  • Are CRAZY about math and can inspire students to love math, too!

  • Are comfortable working with children ages 7 to 17 in a dynamic learning center environment.

  • Can demonstrate math competency from 2nd grade math to PreCalculus and beyond.  

Mathnasium offers flexible part-time schedules for qualified candidates. Our positions are year-round; we DO NOT hire seasonal staff.  Candidates must have 3 or 4 days per week of availability, for shifts during our open hours:

  • MON - THUR 3:30-7:30 PM

  • SUN 1:00-4:00 PM

It's a great working experience for current and future math teachers, retirees, and math-minded professionals.

As a part-time Mathnasium Instructor, you will be trained on the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods. You will provide personalized math instruction in any of the following elementary Math through Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and College Algebra.  

NOTE: All applicants must complete and pass a math assessment and a background check.



  • Mathematics competency based on Mathnasium skills assessment

  • Enthusiasm for mathematics and working with students

  • Good social and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn the Mathnasium teaching method through on the job training

A Math Literacy Test will be scheduled as a first step in the application process, which takes about 90 minutes to complete. Sample questions for the Math Literacy Tests can be found here:

  • This is a part-time position varying from about 6 to 18 hours per week, depending on the level of math you are able to instruct and your availability.

  • Flexible work hours are in afternoons and evenings (3:00pm-7:30pm weekdays and Sunday 1pm-4pm)
