Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

Center DirectorCrystal Hanson, Huntsville Mathnasium Center Director

Crystal has training formal (college degree) and informal as a wife & Mum, home school teacher (any parent has home schooled in some form or fashion) and a spouse to a 20+ year USMC Veteran.

I have worked education across the United States and internationally from Pre-K to 12th grade for 22+ years and leverage "depth and breath" of knowledge from my experiences in conducting assessments of your student when you enter the door to implementation of the "Path Ahead" after the students Math Assessment to move them forward.

FOUNDATION.  We strive to build a "FOUNDATION" of understanding in mathematics and not "cram" for a test and in turn build confidence.

Strong Math FOUNDATION  = Confidence...to take Algebra, Geometry, Calculus

Strong Math FOUNDATION = Critical Thinking Skills...we want your student to ask "why"...which is the most powerful question.

Strong Math FOUNDATION = Athletic & Extra Curricular Eligibility in the secondary & collegiate level.

Strong Math FOUNDATION = College SCHOLARSHIPS (ACT scores > 30 = College Scholarships...higher the score...HIGHER the scholarship value.

Crystal's experience in both the private and public sectors brings a wealth of knowledge in education strategies and techniques.

Crystal encourages the educational growth of each child via the Socratic Method of getting the student to find the answer verses quickly revealing the answer (Translation: Teach the Student to Fish...don't give them the fish) and all while maintaining a POSITIVE  learning atmosphere and not "rote memorization".
