Instructor, Rocket Scientist
Ryan hails from Georgia and loves using his math skills for driving race cars when he isn't instructing or studying Aerospace Engineering at UAH. Favorite Math Topic: Algebra. Hobbies: Driving race cars, fixing race cars, watching race car races, talking about race cars. Fun Fact: Big Braves fan and racing fan, all thing space. Favorite Math Joke: Parallel lines have so much in common... it's a shame they'll never meet!


Instructor, Robot-Builder
Gigi used to hate math and even had to teach herself math when she was in high school! But her determination to become a tech engineer led her to enjoying math. Gigi has taught robotics, math, and science at the Gateway Discovery and Innovation Center. Favorite Math Topic: Unit Circles. Fun Fact: Gigi is a cartoon fanatic. Hobbies: Gaming, robots, 3D printing. Favorite Math Joke: Why did the angle win every argument? He was a right angle.


Instructor, Destructor
Because he likes to solve problems and blow stuff up, Michael is studying Mechanical Engineering at UAH. He easily matches the kids’ energy and offers them engaging examples. Favorite Math Topic: Differential Equations Fun Fact: Michael used to live in Hawaii. Aloha! Hobbies: Rugby, composing orchestral music. Favorite Math Joke: “I dunno bro, I think angles are pretty rad.”


Instructor, Mathematician
All the way from Sandpoint, Idaho, Jo is majoring in math at UAH with the goal of going into game design or defense and security. Jo brings 5 years experience tutoring math from her highschool days. Favorite Math Topic: Algebraic Topology and Graph Theory. Fun Fact: In 8th grade, Jo competed in Mathcounts at the national level! Hobbies: Reading and writing, origami, video games. Favorite Math Joke: We could go on and on and on about pi.


Instructor, Communications
Kate is a math tutor and video engineer. She uses her communications studies to engage students - even the most energetic of 2nd graders! Kate has been with us at Mathnasium for 2+ years. Favorite Math Topic: Geometry. Hobbies: Origami. Fun Fact: A film short Kate directed has been shown in several film festivals! Favorite Math Joke: What did the triangle say to the circle? "You are pointless."

Ms. Michelle

As a homeschooling mother of 8 children, Ms. Michelle really knows how to take the bull by the horns when it comes to teaching children math. Ms. Michelle also holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Technology from UAH. She has been educating children for about 30 years. Favorite Math Topic: Solving systems of equations. Fun Fact: Ms. Michelle loves to hike and does trail running. Favorite Math Joke: Why do plants hate math? It gives them square roots.
