The Mathnasium Approach to Succeeding

At Mathnasium, we’ve helped thousands of kids excel on their standardized tests. We do it by giving students the tools they need to succeed. Of course we teach the “tips and tricks” of test-taking, but Mathnasium offers something more—the filling of mathematical knowledge gaps, which is the key to significant improvement on standardized tests.

Not every student is ready to take the test. A good SAT score requires remembering a set of specific knowledge for a determined date and time –Test date!

ALGEBRA I & II are crucial part for the test. The most recent NEW SAT tests had about 52-54 questions about these topic. Geometry is about 4-8 questions.

The section III has become a very difficult part for most of the students since it include 20 questions with no calculator.

Mathnasium materials for instruction are included. For the practice test we use “The Official NEW SAT Guide” which has to be purchases by the student in any bookstore or online at the Collegeboard.com site

How it Works

  • SKILL DEVELOPMENT: We start with an SAT skills assessment to determine the baseline of the skills necessary to be successful on the SAT.

  • LOGIC & RESONING: Proprietary Mathnasium material, customized to the student's knowledge gaps, takes them through the logic and reasoning needed to be successful on the standardized tests. Students start to adjust their thinking into an "SAT frame of mind".

  • INSTRUCTION: Up to 16 hours of in person instruction (sessions of one or two hours). Students need to schedule* sessions using our online system. Our program is suggested to be completed within 6 to 8 weeks.

  • EXAM PRACTICE: Students will have 6-7 Practice Test. The SAT Practice Test is done at home using The Official SAT Study Guide from the collegeboard. The student will report asnwers to us and missed questions are reviewed with the instructor at the center, building the student's understanding of SAT style questions.

*During hours of Instruction, Mon-Thu from 2 pm to 7 pm.

MCVSD - FRHS | Summer Program  • The Mathnasium Way to Preparation

Is your student ready for the MCVSD or Magnet Schools?

You already know how competitive acceptance is. The admission is many times about as low 0.6 of a point to be accepted.

Preparation is not everything but we can provide a real good idea of what is coming during the admission Exam so the unexpected is not a factor to be part of this competition.

This is a comprehensive review of skills and topics relevant for the Exam. We offer a total of 18 hours (14 hours of instruction and 4 hours of Practice Exam). Include 2 Practice Exam to provide familiarity with the questions that the student may find in the admission test

How it works

  • SKILL REVIEW & DEVELOPMENT: We review the skills and topics relevant for the test. In order for students to do their best, student will have an intense drilling of problems to sharpen computational skills supervised by an instructor.
  • LOGIC & REASONING: Proprietary Mathnasium material, customized to the student's knowledge gaps, takes them through the logic and reasoning needed to be successful on the standardized tests.
  •  INSTRUCTION: Summer weeks program for a total of 14 hours of Math review instruction (flexible schedule, you choose your hours) plus 4 hours Practice Test.
  • WEEKLY HOME WORK AND MASTERY CHECK: Students will have weekly homework and missed questions are reviewed with the instructor at the center.
  • EXAM PRACTICE: Students will have 2 Full Practice Exams. The Practice Exam is done at the Center on Fridays from 4 pm to 6 pm. Missed questions are reviewed with the instructor at the center, building the student's understanding of Exam style questions.
