Camp Mathnasium!

Make math a memorable part of your child’s summer, by enrolling them in Camp Mathnasium! It’s a fun and engaging way to keep up your child’s math skills so they’re ready to go in the fall plus two hours of applying their math with awesome STEAM activities to help with critical & creative thinking, problem solving, team building and more! Awards, contests and more keep it fresh and exciting!

With more than 20 STEAM activities to choose from, there’s no shortage of math-focused fun for students to partake in. Here are just a few:

*Truss Bridge Engineering – Truss bridges are impressive in their capacity and strength. Students will be creating model truss bridges, test them for strength and then re-engineer their designs. Contest to see whose bridge is the strongest!

*Rube-Goldberg Machine - Have you ever watched the videos where one action leads to another thing happening then to another thing creating a long chain of events (like the old game MouseTrap)? We’ll be creating our very own chain of events for kids to show off to each other!

*Mathematical Art – Explore math concepts including symmetry and patterns through various styles of art including Picasso and VanGogh. Use chemistry to create unique paint and make intricate designs in origami.

*Ciphers and Cryptography - Review how to use ciphers to decode messages and students will get to write their own, challenging others to solve their secret messages!

*Engineering - Learn design and building techniques as we create spaghetti towers, gum drop structures, card board houses, paper airplane, aluminum foil boats and more!

Camp Mathnasium is available from June 12 to July 28 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am -1pm. Contact the center for more details!
