Jonathan Bleecker, Center Director/Owner
When I graduated from UCSC with an MS in mathematics I considered going the usual route into industry but did not find any pull in that direction. Teaching, on the other hand, gives me great fulfillment. It's cliched, but there is nothing like knowing you have had a lasting positive effect on people's lives; an outcome they may enjoy for the rest of their lives. I love the idea that twenty years from now our students will be grateful for the guidance we have given them today.
I specifically chose to open a Mathnasium because the program is amazing. The curriculum makes teaching easy, leaving us to focus on bringing joy to our kids.
Gregory Lyons, Instructor
I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. I worked as a Manufacturing Engineer in the computer industry for 24 years. Later in life I needed a change. I pursued a Masters of Education degree in Secondary Education. For the last 9 years I have been teaching mathematics and engineering classes, currently serving as Math Department Chair for Northgate Highschool.
Cedric Niguidula, Instructor
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, which emphasized quantitative math and science courses. Prior to joining Mathnasium, I was a math tutor for elementary and middle school students when I lived in Stamford, Connecticut. In addition, I have also been an independent consultant working on various IT project initiatives. Starting from my childhood until college, math was always my favorite subject, and I am very passionate about it. I enjoy sharing this passion by teaching math. It's such a great feeling knowing that, as an instructor, I am able to help students become confident and happy.
Mila Steinberg, Instructor
I am a college student majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. I would like to go into the medical field and spend my spare time developing charitable non-profit organizations. I have always loved working with kids, whether it be as an assistant coach to the swim team or a tutor here at Mathnasium, I enjoy it all.
Geoffery Lee, Instructor
My long history as a teacher began in high school, then continued to graduate school where I taught College Algebra for several years. Teaching also became part of my job as a top troubleshooter at a pre-Internet network company in Silicon Valley and as a network programmer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. My teaching is not restricted to math; I've taught tai chi locally for the last two decades.
Over the years I have accumulated several alternative calculating techniques that make computation faster and easier for students, and I enjoy teaching these techniques to students who struggle with the methods traditionally taught in schools. I've tutored locally since 2007, and some of my fellow tutors have adopted my techniques. It is my belief that with the proper instruction, any motivated student can get a good grade in math. Or be the best in the entire class. Or the entire school.

Anton Kaasa, Instructor
I am currently a student in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with hopes of a PhD. I first started tutoring in high school and realized not only my love for math, but also love for teaching. I hope to one day teach math at collegiate level.
Jack Ellsworth, Instructor
I really fell in love with math during my junior year of High School. When one of my teachers really inspired me, I made it my mission to not only help through my school's tutoring program, but also to get these students excited about what they are learning as well. I am an engineering major intending to use math to build cars and send rockets into space. I eventually hope to return to education and teach students to do the same.
Josh Ngo, Instructor
I graduated from CSU Long Baech with a degree in Business Economics. In the past, I was a Community Educator for Castro Valley High School. There I realized that one of the gratest moments in life is to see others achieve their potential, especially in academics. I believe that math is one of the most important subjects that students will carry on and use in life.
