Meet the Team at Mathnasium of Macon

Josh Grant

My name is Josh. I live in Warner Robins and I am Center Director of the Mathnasium of Warner Robins. I look forward to spending more time at the Macon location as well. I have been a part of Mathnasium for many years and have helped hundreds and hundreds of students become stronger math thinkers. At Mathnasium, we find that students do not hate math (like they think they do). They do hate being embarrassed and frustrated by math. We can help change that! Our ultimate goal is to help make your son or daughter a stronger math thinker. I can't wait to partner with you & help make that happen. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Jeff Rucker

Jeff & his wife Christine own Mathnasium of Macon and Mathnasium of Warner Robins. And, also own the Mathnasiums in the Augusta, GA market. Jeff was the Chief Meteorologist at the NBC affiliate in Augusta, for 12 years, before opening the first Mathnasium (in 2011). His decision to open Mathnasium was a logical follow-on to all his previous work as a Navy and broadcast meteorologist. Jeff often jokes that meteorology is 70% math, 20% science and 10% art. “I think I took more math classes in college and grad school than I did weather classes.” Since beginning his broadcast meteorology career back in 1996, Jeff has made school visits and weather education outreach a top priority. From pre-K to high school, Jeff has spoken to hundreds of classrooms all over the Augusta area. Jeff has helped hundreds and hundreds of students not only become stronger math thinkers but also become more confident students. He is excited to meet the needs of the Macon students & their families.

Christine Rucker

Christine, Jeff's wife, is his biggest cheerleader and is so excited to be involved with Mathnasium in the Macon area! She is the behind-the-scenes staple that keeps it all together. Christine holds a B.S. in Communications from Old Dominion University. She has worked as a news producer at NBC and CBS in Norfolk VA and at the NBC affiliate in Augusta, GA. Her experience line producing local news helps her juggle all the ins and outs of the Centers. Christine and Jeff have two college "kids" and know how to make kids feel comfortable, encouraged and welcomed! She's excited about seeing you at the center very soon.

Nice to meet you, I'm Jaymen! I am from Albany, GA and am studying to become a commercial pilot at Middle Georgia State University. I am eager to get students motivated and excited to improve their math skills and become more confident in their abilities. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Sophia

Hi! My name is Sophia. I'm a homeschooled high schooler, and math has always been my favorite subject. I love the problem solving aspect of math along with its practical applications in everyday life. For fun I like to play piano and participate in competitive speech and debate. I'm excited to meet you and help your son or daughter grow not only in their math skills but also in their enjoyment of math!

Nice to meet you, I’m Matthew. I am a college student at Mercer University. I love to solve problems and to teach students how to work problems. When I’m not at school or working I like to read, play golf, and cook. I’m excited to meet you and help your child with their math journey!

Taylor

Hi, I’m Taylor! I attend Stratford Academy. My love for math began at a very young age and has continued since then. When I’m not working on a math problem, I’m either playing softball, doing track, or managing our school baseball team. I look forward to sharing my love for math with your son or daughter!

Hello, my name is Fiona! I’m currently a pre-med student at Mercer University. Whenever I’m not studying, I enjoy playing Volleyball and Basketball, playing my guitar or learning to play the piano. I will major in Biology, but make no mistake, I love Math just as much! I hope to share this passion and interest in math to your son or daughter!

Hello, my name is Patrick! I am an engineering student at Mercer University. Math has always been my favorite subject to learn and teach as it has always given me a new perspective on solving problems.
