Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Chris Pierce - New York University

Lead Instructor since 2019
Chris has been working at Mathnasium since 2019. Chris was voted most artistic during his college career at NYU. He also scored a very impressive 800 on the SAT Exam. Chris is passionate about math, helping students understand math, and seeing their confidence grow as they start independently making sense of it. He takes great pride in seeing his students improve! Some of Chris's favorite memories so far, was when a student who kept complaining about how 'torturous and hard" math is ended up getting a 100% on her final quiz, and the moment when a student got into their dream college and shared the news with him!

Collin Madeiros - Massasoit Community College - Class of '24

Instructor since 2022
Collin graduated Marshfield High School in 2022 and currently attends Massasoit Community College. While at MHS, Collin was on the executive board for student council for three years. In 2018, Collin attended the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany and won Gold!! Collin has a deep love of math and chose to work at Mathnasium to share that passion with the students. He relates well with students who feel very comfortable asking him questions. Collin's favorite memory so far at Mathnasium was when he had worked with a student to prepare him for a test, and the student was so happy to tell him he did well, when he came in next. A fun fact about Collin is he's a twin!

Aden Sabin White - Marshfield High School - Class of '23

Instructor Since 2022
Aden is a Junior at MHS. He is a member of the National Honors Society, the Mock Trial Club, the History Club, the Youth and Government Club, and plays rugby for the high school team. Previously, Aden received school awards for excellence in math, English, history, and as a group leader. He also received Presidential Awards for overall academic excellence and attained high honors in every term of my high school career. Aden chose to work at Mathnasium because he found math to be an exciting subject that he excelled at and wanted to share that passion and knowledge onto those who need help. One of Aiden’s funniest moments at the Center was when students started giving him fun nicknames, it brought a smile to his face helped him build connections with the students.

Lily DeGiacomo - Notre Dame Academy - Class of '23

Instructor Since 2022
Lily is in her senior year at Notre Dame Academy. As a member of both the National Honors Society and the Spanish Honors Society, she finds math to be her favorite subject. She chose to work at Mathnasium because she wants others to have the same love of math she does, and also wants to help others gain confidence in their math skills. Lily's favorite Mathnasium moments are when students have the "ah ha" moment and everything clicks! When she's not at school or work, you can find Lily competing in gymnastics, where she's been a competitive gymnast for 10 years!

Leila Omran - Cohasset High School - Class of '24

Instructor Since 2020
Leila is a junior at Cohasset High School, where she is class president, a member of the national honor society, high honors recipient, Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Seminar attendee and a varsity softball player! As part of the math team at CHS, Leila wants to share her love of math with other students at the center. She finds tutoring fulfilling and loves to watch students grow in their abilities and their self-confidence. One of Leila's favorite moments was after she told a student, who she had been working with for months, that she was proud of him, he responded, "I couldn't have done it without you!" Leila was also voted by her classmates as "Most Likely to Succeed". When she's not at school or the center, or participating in the Cohasset High School Diversity Club and Green Team, you can find her playing her ukulele, which she taught herself to play! Leila can also recite the first 50 digits of Pi!!!

Nathan Moeykens - Marshfield High School - Class of '23

Instructor
Nathan is a senior at Marshfield High School and has been on the math team since freshman year. He is also a member of national honor society, Key Club, and is the captain of the high school Swim Team. Nathan has had the opportunity to mentor elementary school kids at Camp Invention and loved to watch them succeed and overcome obstacles. He also really enjoys math and is excited to spread his positivity in the subject to other students. Mathnasium will help him achieve this goal while helping kids learn at the same time. One fun fact about Nathan is that he once swam in an international competition in Iceland!

Kate Carr

Marketing and Communication Coordinator
Kate has first hand experience with Mathnasium, as her boys have been students at the center since 2020. After seeing the work Mathnasium does, and getting to know the people who make up Mathnasium, Kate wanted to be a part of our center! Kate stays at home with her three boys, her husband, Chris, her dogs, Finn and Mugsy, and her many chickens! Kate graduated from Bridgewater State College as a Lambda Pi Eta (National Communications Studies honor society) member. She went on to work in PR and marketing, and finally settled at Covidien, where she sold medical supplies for almost 10 years. Kate has a love of travel. From summiting Mt Kilimanjaro, to hang gliding off the Swiss Alps, to hiking Machu Picchu, there's no where she won't go. However, three kids in grade school, has seriously slowed her travel!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
