Instructor Spotlight: Tyler Pham

Each month we are going to spotlight one of our A+ instructors! Our staff members come from different backgrounds and have a variety of views on math, education, and life.

Our June instructor spotlight is Tyler Pham!

What did you do before Mathnasium?
"I used to work as a runner/buser for Peak City Grill. I met Dr. Wade at a book festival in November 2014 and joined the staff in early December."

Where will you attend college and what's your planned major?
"I'll be attending Santa Clara University in the fall with plans to double major in Math and Computer Science. I'm thinking about getting a minor in Art too. I'm really excited to be moving to California!"

What was your biggest academic achievement in high school?
"My senior year of high school (this past year) I completed both Calculus 3 and Differential Equations through NC State. I'm pretty proud of completing both of those courses before going to college."

What was your biggest academic challenge in high school? 
"The hardest academic obstacle I've faced is definitely managing AP classes. I took give AP classes my junior year, and four my senior year, so I had a lot to keep up with."

What is your favorite subject? (Other than math!)

What is your favorite thing about working at Mathnasium?
"I get to work with math every day! I also really enjoy teaching our students and working with my super cool coworkers."

What's your favorite color?

What is your dream job?
"My ultimate dream job is being a stay at home dad. Seriously- it would be great. I'd also settle for being a high school math teacher or an expert mathematician."

What are some of your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
"I spend a lot time reading comic books, drawing, walking, reading, and painting."
