Middle School Summer Math Programs at Mathnasium of Coconut Grove

Jul 9, 2020 | Coconut Grove

When students walk into math class (physically or virtually!) this fall, there are certain math skills the teacher assumes they have.

Students who have mastered these prerequisites are ready to hit the ground running and build on their solid foundation.  Students with gaps or weaknesses end up working extra hard to keep up and frustration mounts.

At Mathnasium, we start with a comprehensive math skills assessment to identify strengths and weaknesses.  Next, we can help you choose the right math program based on your goals.

Middle School Summer Math Programs

Algebra Prep: In our Algebra Prep Summer Program, students master key concepts in preparation for Algebra I. Key skills include expressions, linear equations, graphing, proportional thinking, and algebraic word problems.

Geometry Readiness: During our Geometry Readiness Summer Program, students work through key concepts in preparation for high school Geometry. Essential concepts include classifying shapes and angles, transversals, congruence and similarity, surface area / volume, conditional statements, an introduction to proofs, and more.

ISEE and SSAT Test Prep: Standardized tests are part of the process of applying to private schools in the Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, and Key Biscayne area. Strong math scores on these tests demonstrate a readiness for a challenging math and science curriculum. To boost math scores on the ISEE and SSAT, we focus on proportional thinking, percents, rational numbers, fractional parts, and algebraic problem-solving.

Let’s use this summer to get ahead. Schedule your initial assessment today either via video-conference or in our Dadeland Station center. You can also give us a call at (305) 974-1542.
