What do we most want for our Mathnasium students in Miami?
Easy. We want them walking into math class this fall confident and prepared - - not just "getting by," but thriving and excelling!
The problem:
Have you read the NWEA’s projections of major academic impacts from COVID closures on students. (In part: "Especially in mathematics, students are likely to show much smaller learning gains, returning with less than 50% of the learning gains and in some grades, nearly a full year behind what we would observe in normal conditions.")
And: "This situation is going to be like what is often called the summer slide, but on steroids,” a school superintendent told NPR.
The solution:
At Mathnasium, we will continue to do whatever it takes to teach and advance our students during and after this interruption, both via live video-conference now, and once we return to our center this summer.
