Jay graduated from Mount Saint Joseph in 2007 and has a diverse background in management, including roles as a District Training Manager for Mattress Firm/Sleepy's, a mechanic and service manager for NTB and Pep Boys, and in management for Gamestop and a pop culture/board game store. Mathnasium is a perfect fit because of his passion for math and dedication to encouraging the next generation to succeed. Fun facts about Jay: he's a former paranormal investigator, storm chaser, and semi-pro bowler. He also competes nationally in Pokémon video games and trading card tournaments and enjoys making his own hot sauces!

Emily, a graduate of Howard Community College with an associate degree in Communication Studies, started at Mathnasium as an instructor in 2019. Her background in retail and babysitting has equipped her with essential communication and time management skills, vital for effectively interacting with students, parents, and fellow instructors, ensuring that educational goals are clearly communicated and achieved. At Mathnasium, Emily finds the perfect environment to utilize and enhance her skills while growing as an individual. Ben got his start in education while volunteering at the Indianapolis Zoo with marine animals such as walruses -- which he regards as the best animals in the animal kingdom! Answering questions posed about the animals and what could be done to help the environment piqued his interest in other forms of education. He appreciates that at Mathnasium you can see the progression and positive impact on students’ lives each day. In his free time, Ben can be found playing guitar (although rather poorly he admits readily), spending time in nature, and exploring new places!

If a student is struggling or simply looking to keep up in their math class, Mathnasium will build upon what they already know, addressing their learning gaps and teaching math in a way that makes sense to them.
Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
