Q: What are your expectations from Mathnasium this new year?
Parent: This year, we are hoping to reach grade level. My son was years behind and he has made a lot of progress. 2025 will be the year he will catch up and be on grade level.
Q: What are you looking forward to most this new year?
Student: I can't wait to earn my Nintendo Switch. I'm only 73 cards away. I've been saving for a long time and I've never worked so hard to save for anything. It's going to be a great feeling once that Switch is in my hands. Plus, I'm sort of learning to like math.
Q: With the new year ahead, what are you excited to achieve at Mathnasium and how do you plan to make the most of this fresh start?
Student: I graduated from high school last year. My goal this year is to raise my ASVAB score. I really want a good job in the military and my score is too low for any meaningful job. I take the ASVAB again next month and can't wait to get started on my life.
Q: What new math concept or skill have you enjoyed learning at Mathnasium recently?
Student: Fractions have always been hard for me, but I'm now understanding them a lot better. I can order them without converting them to decimals which saves me so much time. I love how Mathnasium teaches me hard things and now, they are easy.
Q: In this new year full of possibilities, what are you looking forward to assisting students with at Mathnasium to help them thrive and succeed?
Instructor: This job has been such a great confidence boost for me. I love seeing how my instruction helps a student move from frustration to understanding. The feedback I get from both students and parents reaffirms why I am doing this, and the difference I am making in their lives.
