Welcome back! It’s good to see you again. Welcome to your first Mathnasium @Home session!
You just passed through our Waiting Room. It’s a quiet place to hang out for a moment before your session starts. Feel free to use that time to grab any paper and pencils you might want to use.
Next, you’ll move into the Main Room. You’ll see Mathnasium Instructors and Directors, as well as other students in this room. While you’re here, we will make sure your audio and video are working so that you can have the best session possible. Make sure you have your headphones and the latest version of our video-conference platform running on your computer.
Once everything is set, the “Join” button will pop up and you can enter the room with your instructor! This is the best part!! Your Instructor will be with you throughout your entire session to teach you, work through problems together, and answer any questions along the way. Your instructor will make it fun while learning math!
Remember the assessment you completed? We used it to create a custom learning plan just for you! The Mathnasium material that you will work on each session will be on the same program that the assessment was on. Your instructor will send you the link and it will open in your internet browser. You will have the option to write the answers or type them. Both you and your instructor will be able to write on the page as you work through the material together.
You might notice that there are a lot of pages of the Mathnasium material to work through…. and you would be right! There is a lot to learn about math. We will focus on a few topics at a time and we will always go at your pace so don’t worry about getting through everything today.
When your Instructor wraps up your session for the day, just close your internet browser. All your work will be saved automatically. The next time you login for a session we can pick right up again from where we left off.
