Mathnasium, Sacramento Region, is delighted to be among the invited participants at Tech Trek 2016, to be held at the University of California, Davis campus, the week of July 11-15.
Amber Foos, Director of Mathnasium of Fair Oaks, together with a team of Mathnasium instructors, will be leading a group of 94 middle school girls in a 90-minute program entitled "Why Math?". The program will include teaching moments on such subjects as Pi, the Law of Large Numbers, trigonometric functions and the number zero. The girls will engage in competitive problem solving and mental math, win prizes, and hear personal testimonies from Mathnasium instructors.
About Tech Trek
Tech Trek is a Science and Math Camp for 8th grade girls, who gain self-confidence and experience in a variety of STEM subjects while living in dormitories on campus for a week. A project of the American Association of University Women, Tech Trek has been inspiring middle school girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math since 1998.
